Schmeidmann Headlights on Halogen 128i
Have a 2008 128i with halogens equipped, and was looking into getting new headlights as my right headlight is getting moisture in it and figured i would upgrade them both. I am wondering if anyone has bought the Headlights angel eyes facelift look with rings / white indicators black inside from schmeidmann and if they are plug and play. Look as though they are, and if no one knows I guess I will guinea pig for em. Sorry if this has already been covered, still getting good at this whole forum thing. Thanks!

I think schmiedmann sells DEPO brand headlights (pre-lci look) and from SONAR headlights (those with (in my opinion) wierd "eyebrow" lci look).
I actually have DEPO headlights with grey inside (same color as oem) and I am happy with them. They are PnP for halogen modes using stock H7 bulbs. Here is my "not very" old thread with review. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1337040 |

Do you have a photo with the halogen turned on at the same time? Will the yellow halogen bulb looks weird with the white Angel eyes? Very nice racing stripe by the way |

Secondly I am driving only with daylights (angel eyes) during the day so that's not a problem. And if you don't like that yellow effect during the night try to buy some of those "xenon look H7 bulbs". And at the last I can't take any photos now because my car is in local car servis where they are mounting Supersprint quad exhaust that I recently bought. But if you'll wait 2 weeks at least I'll post some pics here? |

I know. Funny fact is that I still don't have my car back. Me and my mechanic couldn't find any diffuser which would fit. Few years ago there were tons of brands and diffusers style. And now we can't find any. Everybody stopped manufacturing diffusers I need. And I don't want to buy an expensive carbon fiber replica (seems like plastic materials are not popular now)
So this week we hopefully solve it till this Friday ... (If not, I'm gonna kill myself) And I'll put some photos here of those headlights as soon as I get my car back. Promise. |

So chunho01 here you go. (... finally)
It's sort by daytime running lights -> with low beams -> with high beams During the night you can see how low beam lights are cutted. Maybe that looks it has good visibility but in reallity you can see pretty much only a shape on sigh (which is ok if you know sighs), but if it has a text it's not that great. I think that OEM halogens are a bit better at this. Anyway, high beams are ok. But I don't drive at night so it doesn't bother me. |

Hmmmm... so you can't read what's on the signs....? That's a pretty big downside isn't it? I wonder if upgrading the bulbs to these would yield a clearer light output: http://www.carbulbsdirect.com/au/pro...vision-h7-twin |

Thanks, I appreciate it.
You can see it just at the moment when you passing the sigh while it is lighted most. So yes it is disadvantage. And... Well, you definitely can't read those "highway signs" over the road if you won't set tilt of headlights high enough. But some drivers coming from opposite won't be very satisfied and may flashing on you (my case). |

I've been using the DEPO headlights for roughly 3 years now and before I retrofitted the FX-R projector into them, they had a lot of foreground light that was easily washed out by other cars.
One thing that really helped these was adding HID's bulbs from Morimoto. It was major difference but still distance was really lacking. They do have a pretty good cut-off and adding HID's won't blind oncoming drivers. |

A bit off topic, but has anyone ordered items from Schmeidmann that say "NB: Expected in stock in 5 working days?" Just curious if they actually are expecting them in stock, or will order them and get them to me in California in a timely fashion.

It means they are ordering the part and will ship it as soon as they get it. I've never had an item delayed by them and the shipping is very fast through DHL. I've gotten items as quickly as 36 hours after shipment. Heck, I can't get stuff from ECS UPS ground from the Midwest that fast.
