Awesome! Can you video the same thing while showing me the rev counter and maybe do some stabs of the throttle?

Appreciate you taking the trouble

Looks very similar to mine minus the exhaust sound. But it's hard to compare without seeing the throttle inputs.

Would you be able to do a warm start & show what the revs do, same as the video above & then try the throttle tapping & stabs?

My 2011 N55 with DCT has the latest DME and does not act like that. That delay is crazy. Something is seriously wrong.

Anyway, I managed to get a goodwill compensation out of BMW & need to decide what to do. I can get the PPK but I'm wary of spending out on this if it isn't going to fix the issue.

Can someone that had the sh1t update post a video of the car revving at idle?

I've made a video of the symptoms of my car:

The other option is to have the software reverted, but I don't know for sure that can be done...

Thanks

I just got the newest ISTA firmware update, 2.46.3 ,and posted something about it earlier. It literally feels detuned and the barks, pops, and gurgles are almost completely gone. I'm on a JB4 and BMS downpipe and switched between maps to test and it is obvious they made glaring changes. So, basically they neutered the sound, lessened throttle sensitivity, and trashed the overall feel of the car so you'd be forced to spend almost 1000 bucks to reclaim the sensation of the car when you first bought it. Apparently BMW has been doing this forever...what a disgrace!

Did the JB4 fix the issue or are you stuck in the same situation as me?

Can anyone who has the same issues as me categorically state that the PPK fixes the problems & restores the car back to pre update characteristics?

I'm so pissed off about this situation I'm considering just selling the car

well, the JB4 is better than stock driving characteristics by a mile but the threshold for that improvement has lessened due to whatever detuning BMW has performed...I'll talk to terry to see if he has insight on tweaking the JB4 firmware to the firmware version per logs from the car.

BTW, my 09 135i MT does the same thing as that vid, but, it's always been like that really, that's the DBW adding to the issues.
Still, it should respond MUCH better than in that vid and in my 135i.

My complaint is the same one I've had since my update.
While moving, in gear, with the turbo's spooled, I hit the throttle and the computer goes, "uh hmmm, let me see.....throttle input increase.....driver must want some power at some point....checking throttle maps.....here!.....no.....looking........looking.. .....must be this one.....double checking.....checking......did he just ask for the cigarette lighter?......no, no he didn't.....checking.....yup...that's it....ok buddy...
HERE YOU GO!!! Nice isn't it? Glad I could give you what you wanted....now back to monitoring that cigarette lighter...you SURE you didn't ask for a light?"

A bit exaggerated, but you get the idea.

I just scanned through the thread, sorry if I missed it - but is there or is there not a way to check to see which version is currently installed on the car?

Ok chaps, I've been watching 335i performance edition videos on YT, going to see my dealer today, pick up my cheque for compensation & order the PPK 1.

Its basically going to be fitted free, 2.5 months after this debacle started, hopefully this will restore my car

I will keep you posted!

Only the dealer or a shop with a BMW GT1 scan tool can read the SW level. I thought the BT scan tool would be able too but it can not. I wish there was an easy way to tell what SW our car had loaded.

Had a call from my dealer, PPK is in but he can't fit me in till next Monday. However I will be allowed into the workshop to watch the PPK being installed. Hope it fixes it or it's £1000 ($1500) down the drain.

Thanks for the update. I hope it downloads smoothly - and you don't need any hardware upgrades do to incompatible (old-er)hardware issues, like some encounter when getting an SW update.

Make sure the engine idles well - bc the new SW has some weird idle adaptation issues when the engine is first started with new SW loaded.
