Console delete kit
Does a center console delete kit exist for the 1 series or does anyone have connections with a shop that could/would fab one?
I took mine out to overlay the trim and I realized that piece is huge and heavy... I've been procrastinating on putting it back because it's nice not having it in the way. I would leave it out indefinitely but I miss my iPod hook up, and it's probably not a good idea having the center air bag box exposed... Thanks! |

I'm not really going for the hardcore stripped out "race only" look. It's my daily driver plus I have a toddler climbing in and out, so exposed pieces are bad, and sheet metal isn't ideal. I was really hoping someone else had come across an alternate console, either fiberglass or carbon fiber that was just smaller than what BMW puts in.
I've even tried contacting different CF companies I found on google, but I think they put me on their ignore list after they heard what I wanted, because only 1 ever got back to me, and then quickly stopped responding after I sent pics. |

That looked like my interior at one point. I hear your reasoning but I think the console is quite small and compact. I hardly doubt if there is any aftermarket or companies making what you want. I say just slap it back in and maybe remove the arm rest. You're most likely going to have to fabricate something on your own. Our 1's are already tidy and from experience its even smaller with the child seat in the rear. I use to open the passenger to grab my little niece out but now I just let her climb over the arm rest through the driver seat.

you should try specialist car audio installers.
they do alot of fiber\carbon interior work. wont be cheap, but it would be awesome.

I'm especially stoked that it's $10. I was expecting to have to pay out the A for this. |
