Dinan s2 135is?

Think the S2 tune is worth it or just mars a perfectly fine is model?

Would an aftermarket market warranty (route 66) ever know it's on there? Just avoid the dealer? I already have a good bmw/porsche indy shop.

135is 6 speed/60k. Told myself I'd keep it stock butttttt you know. They sell dinan at the dealer

I think Dinan has their own warranties...may want to look into that

Route66 would never know it's a Dinan tuned car. It doesn't add any aftermarket value, but if you want it go for it.

I've been wondering the same thing. I have a CarMax MaxCare extended warranty on my 135i. If I take the car to the dealer to get it fixed, I wonder if the dealer reports any mods they notice? I only have a software tune, at the moment, but I've been hesitant to do other mods, like an intercooler.

I've been sitting on the wall over this as well, my car still has the BMW certified warranty.
If you read the small print the Dinan warranty only covers the OEM first 4 year new car warranty.

Or take it to an Indy and let them know not to mention it. I doubt the dealer would for that matter. They want to get paid. I have the Route66. In my experience you take it in, they diagnose, call Route66 & it gets approved and the work is done. I haven't had a question yet related to the car or equipment. So far they have covered a OFHG leak + tensioner and pulley, new spray nozzles & washer pump, and an oil level sensor.

There is that, tempting for sure now with a price close to what MHD would cost since I don't have an android device.

Yeah the price is why I brought the topic up. 565+175 to install is nothing if it transforms the car for (hopefully) next 5 years of ownership.

Would really love to drive on thats already gotten a tune like this before committing.

$175? My indie/Dinan dealer only charged $75 to install the tune.

For $175, I would buy the DIY kit for $707. I would consider buying the DIY kit anyways. Something to be said about the convenience of being able to do the flash tune yourself and any time there's a question as to whether the flash has been overwritten.

Yes, but it's $50 for device, $199 for MHD, $49 for download/tune pack, $50 for K-D can & OTG cable.

Plus the cost of a bench flash if you're one of the lucky ones with a locked DME. This is also not factoring any down time of your car while your DME is away to get flashed if this is your daily driver nor any labor charges if you choose not to R&R the DME yourself.

I have dinan stage 2 and it does add a bit more punch over the stock tune. I tried out jb4 and i hated the way it worked with my dct- it was really laggy. Dinan tune is much smoother and more OEM-like.

I had it dynoed and it came out as 314hp/340tq with a stock intake.

Its worth it in my opinion. The torque itself puts a smile on your face.

No one needs to know its there.

How is the DCT drivability with the tune?

Sure thing. It’s still over 35% less expensive, and you get more optimization. The linear throttle option alone makes MHD worth it, to me.
