Question about Dinan Parts and BMW extended warranty
I went to my dealer the other day as I plan to have a few Dinan parts installed and I was curious as to how that would affect an extended 100K mile warranty.
One of the managers told me that so long as the Dinan parts were installed before the purchase of the BMW extended warranty that all of those parts, and potential failures would be covered under the BMW warranty. Thats not possible, is it? I should also mention that this BMW dealer is also a Dinan dealer. |

maybe b/c its a dinan dealer... I'll ask my dealer tonite as i need to stop by and pick up the DINAN oil cooler, gotta love 20% discount... i wouldnt think BMW would even give you an extended warranty since Dinan takes over the original warranty if something goes wrong.

Hi BrokenVert. Your dealer said that if a Dinan part breaks, they'll replace it with the same Dinan part?
I think your suspicion is correct, they would be nuts to do this. Just maybe they would replace the Dinan part with the standard BMW part, but I'd doubt even this. You're gonna have to RTFM on this. Get a copy of the extended warranty agreement. I bet you'll find an exclusion for modifications, 3rd party or non-BMW parts, etc. |

Why? Wouldn't the dealer's leverage over Dinan be greater than their leverage over BMWNA?

I think what he meant was that the Dinan warranty mirrors the BMW new car warranty, providing the same coverage. It would not be extended by the extended warranty, no matter what your dealer says.
