Forget who it is, but I recall we have an Opel GT fan here-
Look at what I found on my way to lunch the other day, here in Tally but sporting Mich. tags... Pic doesn't do it justice at all...

Happy to send the original pic in all it's 8 MB of detailed glory if anybody is interested...

Nice!

I remember mackeroni posting a pic of his former Opel GT and his much younger self.

Not sure if that's who you meant.

Anyone here do an E89 wheel swap? I saw a picture of one earlier and thought it looked great so I googled. Low and behold, it's been done on an E90 so I figured would be the same for a 1er. Looks rather good imo

That could even be one of mine.

I shopped between these beauties and Triumph GT6's before getting the idea that a classic car wouldn't be the best daily in salt-crazed Northern Virginia.

Someday, though, I intend to own one/both of them...

To add to the Opel GT post= I had one that I did a big valve head-Weber carb-header- suspension set up from a specialty supplier and a few other things that was a blast to drive. Also did some dechroming and new paint. Loved it!

Nostalgia keeps me buying them and fixing them up, reality makes me sell them. I'm due again!

Please post a photo. A header, Weber carb and cam really wake up the 1900 motor. Great fun to drive, but not every day.

So, after seeing the post about the console tray swap, decided to do the same. The e88 I purchase had the smokers package which I found pretty worthless, but it did have the extra power outlet.

Purchased the factory tray from ECS....

Found several videos on line about removing the console, but it failed to go over the nuances of how the electrical plugs connect. Broke one pretty badly, just couldn't figure it out. It's also interesting that you have to remove the whole console on the e8x to get to the tray, but on the e9x, you just have to remove the top part of the console. Go figure...

Anyway, 3 bolts, 4 nuts, hidden screws and a bit of time and frustration later, I got the console out and made the swap. I wanted to relocate the plug, but ran out of time and the strained back was talking to my saying it was time to pack it in. At least the plug is in easy reach under the iDrive, so I do have the option of relocating at a later date. I have to say, I really like having this extra catch tray for glasses and phone. The small smokers ash tray was really of no storage value. I like this much better....

After the paint cured, I added the clear. Wheels look good, especially with the center caps and valve caps.

Home depot...
Might be different, but looks a lot like a garage door seal in a fancy package...

Edit to add: I don't mean it in a bad way, this has been a popular inexpensive lip for years, easy to install and fairly durable at a low cost.

Every time I see these, I like them more. They did not do it for me before the paint job. Are you planning to do your winters the same color?

Here's a similar product that says it's better than ez-lip (go to the 2nd page). It's called All-Fit lip. There are some videos as well.

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1040106

The poster for All-Fit calls ez-lip "ez rip." lol

Don't think I'd be too interested in either one, but for around $30 there's not much to lose.

It looks good and it’s durable. Not bad for $30.
