I like it although it can be a bit of a pain in the ass to get out and put away - those pieces are pretty heavy and my car is too low to drive over them so I can't just leave them on the floor.
That said, once I have them out and lined up correctly, I think they're good. The lack of access through the sides of the vehicle has not been an issue so far but I've used it for oil changes, the oil pan gasket and I also just replaced a solenoid in the rear diff of a CRV using them.

I would rather have sprung for a full time lift but my garage is under the house so I only have 8' headroom. The quick jack lifts the car about 19" so I can have it fully raised and still open the hood fully without hitting the ceiling, so that's something.

Good feedback. My garage is blessed with a ton of head room so the 2post lift will work well and the MaxJack system seems to be pretty solid and also portable.

I can easily justify the cost if it allows me to do these higher-complexity jobs more easily and myself.

+1 on quick jacks. They're really handy, but really heavy. Way easier than jacking up the car, and it can get the car much higher than you could safely do with a jack and stands. Accessing stuff under the middle of the car is kind of a pain because you have to either crawl in from the very front or very back, but, luckily, nothing much goes wrong in that area. My mom bought a set for my dad for Christmas a few years ago when they were on sale at Costco, and I've gotten to leech off that gift quite a lot.

Yeah, I agree re: Quik Jack. Hard to place and effort required to get jack pads into right spot is required. But much easier to get vehicle up and stable when you want to get under it. Works well on my Colorado, but not so well on Lexus as it has so much plastic body crap hanging down that can get in the way.

Test fitted a Reiger replica from eBay. With a little trimming and some minor adjustments of the anchor nuts, it’s a damn good fit. It is FRP so it’s stiff but it seems pretty solid. Got a Jet Black spray kit on the way.

Also digging into disassembling these seats...

I just finished swapping a 135i cluster into my 128i for that sweet sweet oil temperature gauge.

Shout out to chris_flies for the awesome write up.

Kinda bummed I didn't snap a pic.
Wife needed the Pathfinder at the last minute, so I made a lot of people smile with a purple Stumpjumper sticking out the back seat of the E88!
Stranger with a roof rack on his WRX: "I'm inspired by your dedication to the ride." (Was about 46F when I headed down the ridge for home. Top down was the only option.)

They make reasonable pick up trucks. I picked up a Christmas tree in mine last year.....roof down....December in New England. It was probably about 40F LOL.

More eBay body parts today! Test fit the Ikon BMWPerf replica polyurethane lip today. At first I was pretty apprehensive but if you take your time and hold it tight to the bumper while using the self tapping screws, it fits pretty well IMO. Now it’s off to sanding, priming and paint with the diffuser.

Excuse the dirty ass bumper please.

Today I learned that my passenger side IC mount screw appears to have gone on vacation. Was looking at the IC while walking up to the car after work and noticed the one side distinctly lower than the other... I'm cursing at a particularly vicious set of speed bumps in a local shopping parking lot, but who knows? (of the "jump out and lock the hubs" variety, hate them things!!)

Wonder if the screw is still around, hanging loosely in the threads, or on the undertray...? Glad the hose has a great connection and that it's sitting on both the bumper and undertray since I won't get to look at it till this weekend and she's got daily driver duties to deal with

Also today I learned that MHD has pulled the v8.1 maps, pushing out the v9 beta in their place- Time to go flash my baby and get her off the apparently unloved v8.1!

I'd be a little scared to drive around with the IC hanging on by the hose. Hope it works out for you!

I totally spaced that MHD would uprev their software from time to time. I loaded up CA/91-octane "Stage Almost 1" a couple years ago. I wonder if I'd notice an improvement if I grab the latest rev and re-flash. Held onto the old Android phone for just such an occasion.

Several rev's since then, and normally worth keeping up to date. I too missed that they pulled the v8.1, but, after just a short spin the most current v9 feels smoother. Need more miles, and other votes, to learn if it's really "the shit"

Oh, and, reflashing from one version to another is typically like any flash- just about two minutes... Have at it! Feel free to play with the different map revisions if you want- they're available

So i didn't know this until I read your post so I went out and tried V9 BETA and i did not like it. Boost seems to come on in two stages (~2200 and then ~3000rpm) and in general just didn't "feel right" or connected to the rest of the car. (sorry for the lack lustre description)

I understand its still in BETA so this could obviously change but for now I've gone back to 8.1

I drove my baby for the first time in a few weeks. What a great feeling, even though it was pouring with rain all day (these Michelin tyres are awesome!).

In that time she recieved:
a new sump gasket,
new front + rear crank seals,
new engine mounts,
new trans mounts,
new serpentine belt,
new tensioner + idler pulleys,
a few new random deteriorating coolant hoses + pipe fittings,
a brake + steering flush + refill,
and an a/c re-gas.

She is currently at 122000 klms, so she should be good for another 122000 klms. The VC, WP and OFHG have already been replaced in the not so distant past. Now that the oil leaks have been taken care of, I can start spending money on suspension, happy days.

Thank you!

Step 1. accidentally buy the E88 lowering springs. So my car isn't at the height it should be for the Bilstein B12 kit (mainly in the rear). But overall it's still slightly lower than M-sport height

The fronts don't rub at all (surprisingly - they're lower). No fender roll whatsoever. The rears do over large dips, but if I take it easy it's fine.

I plan on getting the E9x hubs to reduce the offset and then picking up the right springs
