He's not my 1st choice, but if he got nominated by the Dems, he would kill trump.

All this talk of impotence and genitalia, perhaps psychological projection?

the more i think about it, i think the more likely it is trump will run for a second term, even if he doesn't want to. when does he have to "decide" by?

the dem candidates are going to start lighting him up in the next few months-1 year here, and more or less challenge that he can't beat them, and if he doesn't run that emboldens the message. i don't think he'll be able to take taht

i dont get the feeling Trump wants a second term. I didnt get the feeling he wanted a 1st term though either, so who knows.

barring trump tweeting out a dick pic, hes gonna stay in office with no real scandal that will take him down.

2020 election, The Rock and Oprah team up as independents, and get elected in a landslide over the next straight white male the GOP puts up, and a minority gay trans the dems put up.

Trump's tariff wars will trigger a global recession - Trump will deny responsibility for that and blame Hillary and the Dems. His oversized ego will make him run in 2020, but he will lose, even with Putin's help.................Meh.

tariffs won't trigger global recession - they'll just whittle away the USA's trading power, as China will increase trading with other countries to make up for it.

China wants to be what the USA is now, both as an economic trading powerhouse & for their currency to be a reserve currency - look at what China is doing in Africa if you have any question about that. As USA shelters itself more and more, China will be better positioned to make itself the global economic powerhouse the USA is now. Whether or not it comes to fruition depends on how USA handles trade with other countries in the future.

I did hear Cory Booker might be exploring a run. But, I don't think he would get far.

Even though I did not agree with Obama, he was still my president and I respected the office. I voted to try and make a difference. You put up Hillary so it was a no brainer.

You have shown your true colors and they are not red/white/blue.

Those who insist that tariff wars will not cause a recession have not done much reading on the links between the Smoot-Hawley tariffs of 1930 and it's contribution to the Great Depression of the 1930's. It was not the sole cause of the Depression, but certainly made it deeper and longer. Virtually all economists agree on that.

If the economy tanks, he will not win if he runs.

Just my opinion, and it's as good as anyone elses, since none of us can see the future. I don't think we even learn much from the past. Protectionism is a losing strategy.

Except that it's not protectionism - it's simply leveling the playing field.

It's amazing that the media (and others...) continue to call this a "trade war." There's no war whatsoever from the US - it's only a matter of us having equivalent tariffs.

Comparing Smoot-Hawley to the current corrective adjustments is a dishonest comparison.

Smoot-Hawley raised tarrifs on nearly all goods coming into the United States from every country in the world by approx. 62%. In addition, this was done at the height of a recession. Those two factors caused a reduction in imports to the USA by nearly 75%. In addition, at the time of Smoot-Hawley, the USA was a net exporter of manufactured goods. This was a dominant factor in this failed process.

Hardly the same as the current situation where import tariffs are being added to simply match current export tariffs attached to USA goods by other countries and the average tariff increase has been around 2-5%.

Oh, bullshit on that. Our country honors those who disagree with with the current ruling party, especially if he is minority elected and extremely unpopular. Sorry, that's what it is all about, respectable dissension. Furthermore, you are not part of the idiotic illiterate who infiltrate this forum and whose posts are based on a supreme lack of knowledge.
You are not part of it but questioning ones patriotism when they dissent is anti-American.

Yes?
