Tariffs starting to effect aftermarket parts?

My brother sent me a PM this AM advising me to go buy mods for my cars before the 25% tariffs hit. Can anyone confirm this?

Yep.

I work in a different industry, but we're just going to pass off that tax to you, the consumer. Good luck.

There is a lesson to be learned here... Corporations don't pay taxes (/tariffs); their customers pay them.

You're on a BMW forum talking about American made products?

Even the American made BMWs are getting hit by tariffs because a lot of the components are made overseas and assembled here.

You should go buy a American car.

For my Z, I bought mods a little at a time. Sorta like giving myself and the Z a treat every few months. This time, I purchased a ton of stuff within a week of buying my M.

We have been getting ripped off from the get by these after market parts vendors already. They buy CF bits from China/Taiwan for peanuts and mark them up 1000% or more. So what if they have to pay tariff on a diffuser they will price at $1,500 but purchase for $50?? Their volume and initial purchase price is not high enough for this to matter. Further more the manufacturer and seller will probably split the tax and if not, they will charge you the 12 extra bucks they will have to pay at import, big deal.

Unless tariffs are paid based on final sale price, which i don't think they are.

So just because our president is standing up to these countries that charge us exuberant amount of tariff on American made products, people are having a vomit and diarrhea induced behavior with that some shitty attitudes that Trump is destroying our country. Where were the people back in 2009 when gas hit $5 a gallon? Why didn’t people take to the streets and demanded answers from Obama? Fact is we paid more for over-inflated gas prices in one year than we will pay for this tariff.

Deficit or not, two years into his presidency the economy is still going strong and unemployment is at its lowest record... oh wait, maybe Obama and Clinton had something to do with that.
I am pretty sure Obama contributed to whole lot more beside selling arms to ISIS and terrorists alike in the Middle East affecting lives and killing innocent people at a record of $125,000,000, if not more.

And I am positive NAFTA was a fair deal to The USí blue collar employees-roughly 500,000 to 700,00 employees in the auto industry lost their jobs because most auto manufacturing went to Mexico. If anyone thinks that this is a one sided argument, take a look at the Mexican farmers who went out of business from NAFTA and devestated their environment to keep-up with demands by overusing fertilizers.

I can go on and on but who wants to open can of worms especially with the Clintons. I mean what are you going to do with $240,000,000?
