That one looks promising. I don't recall seeing it back when I was looking, so it may be new. Probably not up to Snap-On quality, but unless you're doing this for a living it doesn't matter much.

Yes, it's stupid expensive for a single universal socket, but nobody else makes a 1/4 drive one, and the 3/8 drive ones don't fit.
Interesting that the one review on Snap-On site (5 stars) is for this exact job: "BMW oil stand gaskets. enough said."

Not sure why ya'll are whining so much about the intake manifold- it's stoopid easy to pull back enough for this job, and not that hard to remove in general. If I did em for a living I could justify the cost over time, but even owning two it's not a job done often enough to justify

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a tool to make a job easier, just sayin' this isn't hard or time consuming.

Dont see any whining. This is what we do, share info. I’ve done enough jobs like this to know the less gaskets you break and expensive PCV hoses you yank on a 10 year old car, the better.

PO reported "car has burning oil smell" to dealer; $1100 for oil filter housing gasket, covered by ext warranty (except for $100 deductible). Her service rep had to argue with the ext warranty ppl to get coverage. That was 2 1/2 years, 800 miles ago.

Here's hoping it holds up better than their oil pan fix: same dealer visit, she got new oil pan, gasket, O-ring & screws - and my shop's PPI found slight seepage at the oil pan gasket 2 weeks ago.
