Fitment Q: ARC-8 8x8.5 +45 w/ BFG Rival 245/40/18

Getting close to picking up my summer wheels and suspension bits...haven't found any posts with ppl running the new BFG Rivals - thoughts on if there'd be rubbing issues? From everything I've read, I should be able to run a 245 up front without rubbing as long as I have -1.5 camber or greater...I should be able to get -2.3 with the plates & LCA's. And the Rivals don't appear to run wide compared to other 245's street tires.

Current set-up:
-100% stock 2012 135i DCT, M-sport

Suspension to add:
-Dinan Camber plates (adds -0.7 camber)
-M3 LCA's (adds ~-0.7 camber)

Wheels: ARC-8's, 8x8.5 +45 (square set-up)

Tires: BFG Rivals 245/40/18 (tread width is listed at 9.2", which is less than the same sized Dunlop ZII at 9.5")

Thanks!!

2 things to mention:

1) M3 front arms give the car wider track width and don't increase fender clearance. Although it may still fit if you consider point 2.
2) You will need 245/35/18 because 40 aspect ratio will be too tall to fit on the front.

+1 to what John said about running 35 vs 40 on the 245. The recommendation for this size tire and wheel is 235/40/18 but if you want to go wider, then 245/35/18 can work. I'm running Hankook Ventus V12 245/35/18s up front on EC-7s with same offset as the ARC-8 on stock m-sport suspension with no rubbing. I'm not sure how the Hankooks compare width-wise to the Rivals, but you should be able to run them w/o rubbing if you dial in that negative camber and maybe a 3-5mm spacer to clear the strut tube. I got very lucky and was surprised that my setup worked w/o doing any mods and was all prepared to install the Dinan camber plates and M3 bits as you're doing. I'm probably going to skip the camber plates and just do the M3 bits for better handling/feel.

I tried the 245/40's.....don't do it...you'll rub in the rear more so than the front with a square setup. Get some 235/40's and you'll be golden

Thanks for the replies! Most of the tires I want only offer the 245 width in a 40 aspect (BFG Rivals, RE-11A's...), so I guess I'll stick w/ the recommended 235/40/18; which seems to point to the Dunlop ZII's.

Focusedintntions - Thanks for the comment on the rears rubbing...hadn't thought about that; Since I'll be running the ARC-8 18x8.5 +45 all around, that rim is 4mm further outboard compared to their 18x9.5 +62.
