Question Cleaning Painted Black BMW Exhaust Tips?

Hey all,

Detailing the car and I got to the tips and was at a bit of a loss. They are dirty as can be and I'm afraid that using anything harsh might take the paint off. Does anyone have any good tips on how to clean them?

I'm considering just going over them with a buffer and repainting!

if they are painted and they come off, just have them powdercoated. you're better off with the tips being PC'd anyway,

try a metal cleaner like Adams Metal Polish #1 and/or #2 in a small section in the bottom side of the exhaust tip. let is soak for a few minutes and try rubbing it with a MF towel. check if any of the paint comes off.
