Hey Guys
Nice to meet u all 1stly and thx for the invite. Steve, thanks for organising the route and spending time actually going on the run before hand. It was very well planned, except when we lost a lose cannon for a bit there. Yea, im taking to u Darren. The S bends was awesome!!! So tempted to go again. The sght of 7 crazy bimmer going nuts on those bends was a highlight. So who is posting some photos? I will try to get some of mine on this week. I will try and blank out some of the rego plates in case some of us who do not want their plate on the web.... BBK, my car is an auto. Cant get manual for some odd reason in Oz. Auto for the diesel goes quite well thou but obviously not as quick. So, who is arrange the next run?

Thanks Sam, is it the same auto as in the 135i? Just interested to know if mine can handle that much torque!

Had a bit of "fun" on the way back. Heading down Kingsford Smith Dr, I had a truck behind me (with a massive steamroller on the trailer), and the light turns orange. I slow down only to realise that the truck is in no way, shape, or form going to stop anytime before he can read what's playing on my iPod. So, I had to quickly pull to the next lane across, and see the truck come to a stop.........about ten metres into the intersection. The driver got out and had plenty to say (lots of words that made him sound like a crow), accompanied by an equal share of head shaking (checking the chains on the load).
Sure, I could have gone through the orange light, and probably make it before it turned red (it was amber for a good few seconds before I got to the intersection). However, isn't the onus on the vehicle following to ensure they had plenty of time to stop? I'm unsure if there was a red light camera on that intersetion, but as I a) stopped on the pedestrian crossing section, and b) there was a mosterous truck up my clacker, I think I'll be safe either way. End of story...............and they lived happily ever after.

However you can normally get them to recommend somewhere and when you go to get it done have a look at all the 5 series and 3 series just out of warranty in there for repairs as it's likely to be where they sub-contract to. |

Thanks everyone for a great run. Unfortunately we could have had a better run without some of the slow moving cars in front of us. Next time we'll need someone to have some satellite images to let us know when to slow down and speed up .

Has anyone thought of doing an afternoon/early evening run? Would the traffic out that way be a bit less? Plus... better photo opportunities :-p

When I was up there on Saturday doing the test run, I managed a free run down from Maleny and then back down Peachester after 2pm. It seems not much traffic around that time.
Too close to dusk might make it more dangerous as there are always some silly buggers in their bikes or their 1990 pulsars. BTW, where are all the photos??

Nice guys - sorry I missed the run - will definitely aim to be there - especially because I should have my new vehicle in a matter of days!
Currently driving an X3 2.0d - damn it has some torque! Love the glass roof too

We did all go passed a "special" camera at one point, so hopefully the only photos of the drive will be the ones posted here.
