Agreed on selling and drive the 1M. I bought my 1M for investment purposes two years ago with only 10k miles. I sold my other daily and as of a month ago have been racking miles on the 1M and it sits at 12,500 miles. It's comfortable, economic, and tons of fun! Plus you can rack all the miles you want and probably never lose a dime.

i dont mean to be "that" guy....but why would you want to sell a 1M to jump into a Gti? That makes absolutely zero sense and cents to me

Oh I thought he meant selling the Mazda 3 for a GTI?

Either way the 1M is miles and miles better than either—selling a 1M for a any GTI is bad bad move 😂😂

Was in a similar situation. I was sitting in horrible bumper to bumper each day in the 1M. Decided to get a daily so that every drive in the M was a proper drive. Went through a GTI and now in a 7.5R. The 1M gets driven a lot but doesn’t do the nasty commute and shopping centre trolley dodge. And although the Golf R is good, as a drivers car, it’s not even close to the 1M in my opinion. The 1M is pretty magical to drive really. The golf I use to ferry my elderly parents around in as they can’t get out of a little coupé anymore. And something very noticeable to me is the build quality of the E82 chassis compared to the Golf, so much more solid. Shame it seems cars are just getting worse in the respect.
