US military 1Addicted
I pre-ordered and took delivery of my 1er while stationed in Germany. Because of the huge discount military service members receive, and because of the ratio of young guys (the most likely 1er buyer) in Germany due to the military, I'm hypothesizing that there is a higher ratio of military ownership of the 1er than other BMWs. Ergo, there is a higher ratio of military people on 1Addicts.com than you'll find on most other forums
This applies to all components. I'm curious.

USMC. Ordered mine while deployed in Iraq from First Choice Military Sales. My sales rep, Lisa Dimmick, was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. I was in contact with her well before I even saw the 135 debut at the LA auto show I knew Took delivery of the car in August and already have 13k on it!

No, but I work indirectly for BMW. So your 'young guys buy 1er's when they get a discount' theory is still valid

U.S. Army here- hooah. Not that young (well, young at heart I guess) and not a guy, but some of us old gals like a cool car too (yes, I am getting the 6-speed). Stay safe, y'all, and thanks for your service.

I ordered my 2009 BMW 135i through Pentagon and had it delivered in Italy. Will also ship it to California when I transfer via the Home Delivery program BMW offers (shipping my X5 on my orders).

I am AD Air Force currently stationed in Georgia. I was TDY to Japan for a few months and tried to order my car while I was there but it never happened. I had to pay full price here in the states.
It's a shame that I could not take advantage of such a discount. |

U.S. Army veteran here...still young I guess (30 something)! Still working with the military (USMC) as a supporting communications contractor on Al Taqaddum AB. As a note any of you contractors on here can also use military sales to buy your car. As long as you have orders you are eligible. I myself like ARES545 was not patient enough to wait to purchase thru military sales as the scheduled delivery would not have matched up with my personal schedule. Those who can USE it...will save you 4k+...

Ordered from Pentagon Car Sales. So easy, a civilian could do it.

I think non-military are under-represented due to the title, which reads like a thread with which only military would be interested. And don't add the totals for military. Only compare the first and third poll options since the second is a subset of the first. Its 18::35 right now, which is about 34% of the total.

What if you got out of the military and you are a contractor now? By the way, if you are a civilian/contractor, you can still get the same discounts as active duty for purchasing vehicles while in the AOR, in case anyone was wondering. That goes for BMW/Audi/Saab/Volvo/and all domestics and Harley Davidsons.
