Extended coverage of fuel injectors

I received a letter today from BMWNA saying they were extending the warranty on the fuel injectors to 10 years, 120,000 miles. Also they reimburse prior repairs on the injectors.

WOW. Any chance you could post a picture/copy of the letter? Hopefully the rest of us receive one, too!

mattm What year is your One ? N54 I assume ?

I wonder IF we could get a pdf of this extended warranty by BMW. This must have been part of a lawsuit against BMW NA. ?

Mine is a 2011 USA car. I suspect for cars outside of the US (North America?) it would certainly give you support at your dealerships. I noticed Canada was not included in the letter. BMWNA must have had enough failures to generate the extension. I wonder what other cars have those same injectors and did they get notices, too? I wish they would extend coverage on my 335d (SCR, DEF, NOx sensor parts). I spent stupid money a year ago on those parts.

I got the letter too. Has anyone actually experience a failure with their 1M?

My car is Canadian but I imported into the US. So I probably got screwed too. I notified BMW of the importing and they transferred my warranty to the US but it's all messed up. I don't get recall notices from Canada because in order to get them you have to have a Canadian address but BMW USA will not send them to me even though they know I'm the current owner. They want me to get them from Canada but they can't understand that I can't do that.

When your injectors failed did you get an engine light? Can you tell us what happened?

This is great news. My car has recently been losing power ok WOT and then starts to sputter and make a vibration on acceleration. If the car is turned off it stops but I can't accelerate like before. Is this more likely than not the injectors?

My injectors are fine (knock on wood, and I'm at 63,300 miles). I even drive the car today. Not at WOT but in a "spirited" manner. It seemed fine.

This was referenced in a different thread, but you can plug in your VIN at www.BMW-RP.com and see if your car qualifies for this.

Update: received my letter today.

714_1er, how many miles did you have when they failed, do you use Tier One fuel when you fill up?
