Talking Highway performance, just crazy!

Just starting to really use the car (only had it for 5 days) and I can't believe the level of performance on the highway!

Going at 90-100KM/hr and then putting your foot down the rear-end wiggles and then takes off like a rocket ship! Never been in a car that does that.
Mind you haven't been in a tone of fast cars, fastest was probably a F355, but that doesn't have nearly as much torque as the 1M.

Really just saying how shocked I am at the performance and this is coming from a 135i. I can't wait to feel it in the twisties considering BMW's main forces wasn't power but handling with this car.

Go to autocross. It really shines. I took 4 seconds off my best time on a certain course my first time out in my 1M vs my 135i with JB4 and Yokohama AD08s, and my 1M dyno'd lower. (1M stock)

To me, that amount of handling change with LESS sticky tires is INCREDIBLE!

I was beating a Boss 302, Lotus Super 7, SMG M3 on R888s and set top time of the day, just for reference.

Imagine being cruising the autobahn in 6th gear at 90 miles per hour and putting your foot down....it goes. I was really impressed on the autobahn too. It was a rush going from 90-130.

I thought the 1M was just a 135 with wider fenders....

+1 It was great to drive on the Autobahn without any worries of a ticket as well.

4 "poo-chutes" 2 radiators and overboost especially useful when cruising and flooring it on the highway. 135 doesn't have that.

As I am sure you guys are aware, I was just being facetious since I was questioned early on when I said that the 135 and 1M were COMPLETELY different animals. ;-)

1M/// is a fine beast!! I'd love one, but will be happy with a 135i.

135i is is a fine machine for sure! I actually feel closer to 1 series people than M3 people for some reason. I think it's because we have the desire for smaller, lighter cars.

I had my car for less than a week and it really goes! It is insane how much power this little beast has. I love it! I was cruising on the highway and a guy in a chrysler 300c srt8 wanted to bully me. He came at me from behind trying to scare me, i just had the throttle at 75% and the car just flew to 150 kph. He looked shocked! I let him pass but only after I allowed him Enjoy your beautiful car my friend

I don't know if it's because I still have DSC on (Although I don't see any flashing lights), but I don't really find 3rd gear and above that impressive. Maybe it's because the speedo changes calibration after 120km/h (There's now two spaces between larger numbers), or what, but I find this car is fast as hell in 1st, 2nd and parts of 3rd, but top of 3rd and higher is a little under whelming IMO.

Edit: It could also be that I'm outside of the sweet spot. By top of 2nd I'm already massively speeding, I guess the RPMs could have been lower then the car wanted them in the other gears. I haven't done a top speed run through the gears yet, maybe that'll change my impression.

3rd seems awful quick to me. I keep MDM on, though. I do find DSC all the way on to fairly significantly limit the performance.

335hp only gets you so far....

Be careful, you sound like you potentially have the Mod Bug!

I created a different tread of MDM vs. all nannies off power delivery. Even when the tires are not spinning and the power is being delivered to the ground, the car does feel faster when all the nannies are off...it's almost like the software still continues to slightly limit output delivery even if the tires are not losing traction.

I think it's a general consensus that most of us agree on this. Try a 3rd gear pull with all the nannies off...I find it that this car pulls like a train

LOL, I'm REALLY trying not to get into modding this car. Although I'll probably get a Stage2 (Stage3 if they ever release one) Dinan tune, or maybe JB4... But I really want to avoid that. I did everything you could think of to my last car, and it sat around 370-380 whp. I want to take it easy this time around The car is well balanced in stock form.

I definitely need to try this. I haven't played enough with full DSC off. I keep seeing nightmare videos of people losing the back end on high powered RWD cars... This is my first RWD car, so I'm taking it easy until I get a feel for it on the track this summer.

I think people get used to the power and start to think it is slow. This car jumps from 60 to 90 miles per hour in a heart beat. If I make a pass on a two lane road in 4th, it very quickly gets to 100.

335 HP may not seam like a lot, but the fat torque curve makes it one of the nicest and most addictive 335 HP car I've driven.

Definitely this car is a beast! I was cruising at 90 km/h in the highway last week running on 5th gear I downshifted to 4th and to down to 3rd, floor down the pedal and away it goes to 190 km/h in just few seconds. There's power in every gear. This car is the most exciting thing to drive! What a machine!
