what car did you order? I haven't heard of any 1 series with a 4 month order time. I just ordered one for my girlfriend and I spoke with my friends at the Greer plant about it, and 4 months never even entered the conversation.

Some of these guys waited 4-5 months. Just think of how great it will be once you get it

dude, I'm sorry, well; I know sometimes wth Porsches they've done things where they'll build like 50 black cars at once, and so on which can mess up order times. Granted I ordered from people I work with and I know they were trying to make me happy, but like the second I asked they just said 6 to 8 weeks. I don't think they lied to me because they know if it isn't here in 8 weeks, I'll cancel the order and wait even longer after I order it again from someone else.
If it makes you feel any better I know guys who ordered Audi S5s and seriously waited like 12-15 months to get their cars. |

You know that just doesn't seem right. I know they've shut down the factory at least once due to the drop in sales, but, that still seems excessive.
When I did my Euro Delivery, I only gave them 8 weeks notice. Which means they built it in about 6.5 weeks (I checked). I'm not an expert or anything on their production schedules, but still, that's two months out to build - 2.5 from your order date. It might be worth getting the sales manager involved to see if there is anything they can do to move that up. |

M_ Dust you were lucky then i am a little upset but here is nothing i can do. They said they have one other 135 ordered that is due to arrive the same time as mine. Maybe my dealership didn't have any slots until then. It does seem odd to me considering i told them i was paying cash when i get the car. I have no choice they gave me a great deal so i will have to wait... grudgingly. just makes me al little mad cause i went to carmax and they had an 08 jb with leatherette with hifi and idrive with 6k miles and a 6spd that i would have bought had i seen it before i ordered.
can anyone that works at a dealer chime in. I know you guys have more info than me so id like to have one of you guys look up my order number and see if it is really scheduled for late January. |

Our car made the entire trip with M3_Dust's car. Ordered on 9/11, finished build on 9/24 and delivered on 11/4.
We placed our orders through different dealers. 09' Sp.Gr Met. - Coral - 6mt - Everything but Nav. |

Does not add up?

So you said the change of build week is from first week of 09 to 4 week of 09? This is only 3 week in difference, not 3 months.

It might be worth talking to the sales manager and threatening to walk. A larger dealer might well have a sooner production spot - they may be able to get something moving if they think you are going to cancel the deal.
I don't normally advocate being dishonest, but it doesn't sound like they are being completely upfront with you. You might mention that you feel uncomfortable doing business with folks that aren't being completely honest with you, especially in such an unsure economic climate... |
