Grille Striping

Hey,

Has anyone done this kind of grille striping with the M colours? I think it would be a nice touch.

pretty uniform, strongly feel though that is an awesome and up to date alternative the actual m badge for the grill.
I phone pic of my car below. Imagine what it would look like with the stripes as done above and let me know what you think! It is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Grill Striping - Keep it or Kill it?

To ensure keeping my options open, I made a grill with the stripes on the outside, as well as one with the stripes on the inside. IMO the stripes on the outer side look better, and will stay if I decide to keep the stripes all together.

Here are the couple of pics I took of the inside:

Outer Side:

What do you guys think? Keep it outer or kill it all together?

^^^awesome...as I was looking at the first pics I thought to myself, "hmmm, I wish he would have done this on the outer fins of the grill..." and then I saw the last pics. Keep them on the outer ones (close to the headlight), I'm not one for stickers but I actually think they look good.

thanks! I originally did do the outside first but had to be sure. I absolutely hate stickers and honestly did this as a trial run. I wanted to add some of that retro 80-90's e30 m3 rally feel to the car without going overboard, just enough. the m badge designed for the front grill that was on the e30 is just too outdated for the 1M IMO. This I saw as an awesome option for that same type of look/ feel. Nothing crazy but again a nice subtle touch for a stock 1M and a very, very easy install I must add. If I get good enough feedback I will have the side sent to IND for painting, although the vinyl does look quite nice.

Looks awful IMO. Very tacky and naff.

Why not just mount an "M" badge on the lower centre honeycomb grille?

Not bad, but I (not surprisingly) prefer what I did to my car.

If you want do something the M badge would be the best option IMHO, like the E30 M3, only without the 3 for obvious reasons of course....

It would be subtle yet powerful, just as it`s predecessor used to be......but in no way outdated......

You really think it is that tacky?? I would maybe agree if I still had chrome grills, chrome side markers due to all of the variation in color but with the black gloss grills and the black gloss side-markers from IND on the black car, I think it really compliments the "black" but not "black out" theme well. Thanks IND for these awesome pieces by the way! I get more and more compliments as time passes.

**They look very bad ass, especially when illuminated**

Kinda off-topic, but does anyone know the names of the 3 colors used in the ///M striping (in case anyone wants to DIY)? Laguna Seca Blue, Le Mans Blue, Sedona red?

I was wondering what the history was behind the 3 colors and found this link. Explains colors used as well. Interesting.....

Very cool! Also the names chosen for these colors are the names of world famous circuits dating back to the 70's

Laguna Seca Blue - Laguna Seca Raceway

Interlagos Blue - The Autódromo José Carlos Pace itself is still commonly called Interlagos, although this hasn't been its official name since the 1970s.

Imola Red- The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari is an auto racing circuit near the Italian town of Imola. AKA The Imola Cicuit.
