E90 Sedan/Coupe/M3 Winter Ready?
Hi everyone,
I'm contemplating getting a new 3, and potentially waiting out for the coupe or M3. Here are a couple of questions for you all: 1) Is it rediculous to drive an M3 in the winter? If I do get a new E90, it will be my main commuting car. 2) Anyone know when the XIs will be coming out with all wheel drive? 3) Any Colorado, USA owners around to offer their insight? Thanks. |

It's no more ridiculous to drive an M3 in the winter than a non-M3 E90. Sure there's more power but as long as you don't go nuts it should drive the same as long as you get the right winter tires and wheels (narrower tires and wheels will help too). Do a search for "330xi" and you'll find some info on the AWD e90.

Thanks Coco and Johnfkitchen.
My brother had an E46 330 Coupe and, even in the winter time with 17" Blizzack tires, said it was more difficult to drive due to the wide tires in the rear. Hmmm...I still want that M3! |

Coco,
Good suggestion. Are there any BMW recommendations about snow wheels/tires? I mean, if you get narrower tires, aren't they going to need spacers or something so they don't "sink" in the wheel wells and look odd? Thanks. |
