Can you still get Jay Meadows 1M rear Fender Flares?

I was wondering if anyone here knows if you can still get those rear fender flares made by Jay Meadows I think it was? If so, is there any contact info for him or the company that sells them?

Someone just told me you can find him on facebook. I PMed him awhile ago and got no answer here.
Im also speaking with a local fabricator who wants to make them out of metal and weld them on my car. Im sure it would be cheaper if i got a few pairs

Yea he just posted a for sale ad for them today on the group. Price is back up to 500 but from what I've seen on cars running his flares it's worth it.

Yeah I actually got in touch with him and yes its $500 shipped, however I running into issues with most body shops I speak to not wanting to do this type of work. Im no body guy, but the concern seems to be related to cracking/flexing once the flares have been molded in. Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?

Makes sense. Metal and fiberglass would not flex the same way

I used 3m 2-component body adhesive (really strong stuff), and kevlar filler. So far so good. (1 year now, so not too long, other than a full season of temp swings). Anyway, it turned out quite nice. That said, I would have preferred a metal option, but the quarter panel replacement is an awful lot of $$, and it has negatives as well, as you will never get the full coating protections a factory install would have had.

How did you mold them in and coat them for weather protection if you don't mind me asking? Any pics of the install?

I didn't cut back the inner fender and fold back, which is a bit crude, and also leaves the inside part of the inner fender uncoated. I cut the inner fender, and then added an approx 1" spacer, and then rewelded back. This was done before bonding the flare, so it allowed full access to the back side of the inner fender, and proper coating of the metal.

So order of operation:

Trace flare onto fender and cut outline allowing 1 1/2" of metal for flare bonding.

Drill out spot welds connecting inner and outer fender, and remove outer fender section that was cut.

Cut inner fender section and re-fit with spacer so that it meets the flare like it would OEM.

Weld spacer to inner fender, and then weld to the inner fender. You now have an inner fender that is wide enough to meet the lip of the flare when installed.

Coat all the welded bare areas with epoxy primer

Install outer flare onto fender, and bond with adhesive both onto the lip, and to the inner fender.

Bodywork as needed to provide seamless look.

I did post a picture or two in the large thread :

If you end up getting metal copies made I'm in for a set.

Anyone have leads for an option for rear flares? I emailed prior design and niftyfiftyfour but so far no replies. Don't have any social media so not sure how I would get in contact with Jay Meadow. I'm currently gathering parts for the 1M front end conversion so the rear is in the near future hopefully!

People just don't want to spend it. I've seen a few members trying to organize something to have them made but were looking at $1500ish after shipping. Just seemed most people didn't want to go that route. Honestly I've had Jays fenders for two+ years with no complaints other than my own bodywork lol
