It wasn't the headlight bracket, my problem was the poorly designed tab that connects the front bumper to the fender. If facing the wheel well, up to the left at the panel seam. This will ONLY be a problem if you are running larger wheels (BBS 19" I forget my offsets) and you are lowered. I had dinan springs, the drop wasn't huge. Big bumps would rub.

After a bunch of big bumps and pothole the tire would wear down the tab that connected the panels. Friction at high speed would eventually wear down even the metal part of the tab.

I had my 1er for 10 years, I had the panels replaced 2-3 times (I forget how many). After the 1st or 2nd time it happened I was hell bent on finding a fix. Unfortunately the car was totaled before I got to try the quick releases but IMO if you can fabricate them to fit properly they would likely do wonders

You just need a new headlight bracket. It’s not too much work to change it and it’s only $37.

Depends on your wheel set up. It’ll just keep happening again and again if you’re lowered and you run a wider than stock wheel setup like I did

I used a quick release tab since finding a replacement bmw performance bumper is impossible. It isn’t the typical quick release that connect with a rubber band. The push in like a button and kind of look like a parking sensor. best I could do to save this bumper. But I would like to somehow fix the mounting points for added support and fix the gap I have between the bumper and fenders.
