I just ordered a repair kit from Colourlock on Amazon. We'll see how it goes. My BMW Performance springs are on back order, so this will keep me busy in the meantime.

Installed my rear subframe after giving it a long overdue refresh. Pressed out and replaced all 11 bushings (with M3 bushings where possible) then added a rear swaybar. Tomorrow, pressing in new bushings on the wheel carriers. After 3 months of getting my ass kick by rusty fasteners, broken bolts and a seized axle shaft, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Can't wait to get it back on the ground. Both front and rear will have been completely rebuilt...shocks/struts, springs, arms, bushings, even brake hoses and metal rear brake lines. I went down the rabbit hole big time! Spent my track budget, so that will have to wait until next year.

Tore apart my engine bay searching for a boost leak.
Also opened my convertible top and i guess something was in the trunk latch but it registered as closed. The top opened. And stopped. I went back to look and i bent the shizzit out of the tonneau cover |

Installed my new valve cover and it appears to have fixed my smoking/burning oil problems. Job was much easier on the second go-round. Quick tip to make the install easier - remove the bracket for the back left vanity cover bolt. Its held in by a couple of T30s and makes the install a hell of a lot easier. I lost a vanity cover bolt so I'm leaving it off, but reinstalling the bracket after getting the VC in shouldn't be too bad.
Almost certain that the VC itself wasn't the issue, but the gasket was. The genuine gasket that came with the VC fit a hell of a lot better than the Elring gasket that I put in a few months back. The genuine gasket actually wanted to stay in place rather than falling out if you looked at it wrong. Would def recommend splurging on a genuine gasket if you're doing the job. The bad news: I'm now throwing code P0012 for the intake cam after putting everything back together and now my idle surges every 2 sec or so. No clue what could be causing it. Everything was fine on the initial drive to run an errand, but the SES popped up on the drive back. Gonna double check the connectors and try to do the manual reset of the valvetronic motor again. If that doesn't work I'll pull and clean the solenoid, but I can't imagine why it would go bad after replacing the VC. Edit: code was caused by me having the intake and exhaust solenoid connectors mixed up |

Probably because most people leaving them on, unnecessarily. Dunno. Also strange that some european manufacturers choose to keep them, and others choose to eliminate them... or even within a single brand, different cars with and without. |

Also strange that's not a cost-saving issue for manufacturers: all of the hardware is still there. |

What did you use on your leather? My driver's has a few similar minor wear areas that I ought to work on. Thanks! K9Leader

Recommend using a light coating, waiting 2-3 seconds, then wiping excess off immediately with a dry cloth. Apply using multiple light coats, wiping the surface after 2-3 seconds, each coat. |

I put lux Angel eyes in my car last week, finally got around to driving it about 20-30 mins in got the adaptive light error light thing. Found the thread online about the ideal place for the ballast part to sit so hopefully issue solved. But man what a pain that passenger side headlight cover is, ended up taking out boost canisters for more room. Still was annoying lol
