Yeah maybe it is just in my head, but i keep asking myself (or telling myself) what has been done on the car, yes everything i can think of has been replaced/changed (even the wheel bolts are new).

As i said a few pages back, my goal is to learn my car, learn the track, improve and then make modifications according to what i need. If in the future all i need is pads and fluid then so be it, it is a daily car mainly.

Tomorrow is a big day at the garage, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and no silly stuck bolts make me curse
Oh, then yeah don’t worry about the stock pads. First time on track feels like a Formula 1 race but you will not really be taxing the car.
What he said ^

Did 100+ track days on motorcycles. Day 1 was wide eyed and nervous. Later looking back I was slow as molasses. ;-).

Go, drive at what you think is 80% and have fun!!

I thought they looked wide at first too. But they're 18x8.5 square. Here they are in his e90

+15 offset?
Ugh. That won't work.
The biggest downside of out car is the unusual offsets that limit the available wheels.

Those are sick, what are the width and offset? 1 series wheel fitments can be really tricky...

Edit just read the posts below, ugh... sorry man. Wanna sell them to me? =D

RS-GT were/are also available in 8.5 ET38 which should kind of work.

18x8.5 ET38 is a typical spec for vintage BBS rims and the E82 fucking sucks regarding wheel fitment.

Yeah I confirmed with my buddy that they're +15 all around. I noticed the 15 on the one face

I will thank you.

Replaced the diff oil and transmission oil, just look at the condition after 50,000 kms.

Something in the back of my head kept nagging to check the front brake pads and discs. I just swapped them out and i am glad i did. Pads and disks were so rusted, actually had a fight with the driver side disc to come off and the piston inside had a ton of baked dust it was hard to move.

Spent 2 hours on the front brakes making sure everything is clean as it can be. New discs, pads, disc mounting bolt anti-seize and caliper/pad springs installed. Bled the whole system using Chris Fix 1 man method, it was a breeze.

Changed the oil and filter and reset everything.

First 8 kms the brakes were pretty much non existent, 22 kms later they are starting to break in. The diff is a lot quieter and i feel more...responsive after the fluid change. The transmission feels like a well oiled action bolt rifle, the bmw "notchiness" is still there but with so much more precision, i was speeding just shifting all the time, felt really nice to rev match and just keep shifting now.

Also installed new wheel bolts all round, original ones were really rusty and i just bite the bullet.

Checked the whole car, re-checked all the torque specs and i was admiring the underbelly of the car, i like how BMW added scoops and holes here and there to allow air to hit the transmission housing for cooling.

Also installed F20 style brake dust shields that have a more aggressive scoop to allow more air to cool the brakes. After i installed everything, i looked through the front bumper and saw the scoop protruding out, it is no fix to the brake cooling but some air is better than no air, costed me €20 for both sides.

Will go and drive later tonite, get some mileage on to re-torque the wheels and break in the front pads/discs better before my trip.

Brake fluid flush, differential fluid flush, power steering flush done yesterday.
Oil change and transmission were done last month.
That leaves me with coolant that will be done in the fall and then she's got all new life supporting liquids inside.
All the car needs now is a wash, claybar and polish.
And a set of Konis.
Maybe...
Still cannot decide.

Im doing the coolant flush and belt + tensioner and roller after my 1 week vacation.

In terms of polish, im not sure if i will get the tools and do it myself or send it out.

Suspension...im still juggling between B12- pro Kit or Koni STR.T (orange) myself.

Lol I'm debating on a kit myself. Why aren't you considering the Koni yellows?

I was gonna do the B12 setup with eibach springs, but bilstein is always backordered and I'm worried the eibachs are gonna be too low for me

Going to test fit tomorrow to see exactly how bad off it is. Might just have to justify some N5 1M style fenders. those are 15mm wider so I might be able to swing it

I haven't driven my 1er car in 6 months.... so today I installed some little pieces because I had to tinker with something! I just did the Clutch stop + Rev Motoring Silicone Intake hose. Also cleaned the intake filter and replaced the peeling rear emblem.

I can hear more of my intake with the new hose but it's very minor, almost impossible to tell if it made any performance difference, I have no point of reference.... Clutch stop feels fantastic though, i just wish I did it earlier now

I never thought much of Bilstein until I had ride in my friend's 1er with the B12 kit. I was very impressed; couldn't believe how nice that car felt on the road

Appreciate the opinion. That's one for the B12 kit as far as I'm concerned.
