128/135 as a DD? Lease Rates??

Hi all. After browsing this forum for about a day, I really started to like the 1er. I think this is the perfect car to replace my Camry as a DD. Does anyone know how much it would be to lease a base model 128 or even 135 w/ just AT gearbox?

ps.

for all the people who think Im just fooling around, please just ignore this thread. I am really looking for some useful inputs as I wish to get out of my DD Camry.

first of all i think 128 is better for DD, because it doesn't have that much hp for you to deal with, no turbo whissles. and with a good tire you don't ahve to worry about a thing for 2-4 years. cheaper insurance as well as the price.

lease price depends on down payment and term of lease. usually it's half the buying price.

I thought you already got a buyer for your car. I want a 1er so I can see which car the girls would prefer (i.e. which one is cuter )

I'd go with the 128 as a DD, but as far as the 128 is concerned, the stick is better than the Steptronic. However, if you do a lot of stop and go, that is a pain. Not for me here in the boonies, where if you have to stop at two stop lights in a row, you're pissed.

I say this from test drives, not just hearsay.

I'm hoping to get a 128 stick later in the year, but you never know. It's never done until the papers are signed, and you drive it off the lot.

honestly if you want to get a Bimmer, make sure you got everything you wanted in there, or you'll regret.

For me I got premium package, sports package, heated seat, xenon, hifi, 6 speed manual, active steering, for $35000 where as a striped would already cost 29k, I pay 632 a month for the car, no trade in or anything. just 2000 down. lease one would cost you 572 ish a month and that's not as equvilantly equiped. In the end in this economy, you better have some awesome credit to get a lease anyway.
so unless you are ready to dump in some money, maybe you should buy a used one.

You can't hear the turbos in the 135i.

I could hear it after 3000 rpm, and that's why i didn't get 135.

FYI a 128 vert, fairly spartan with auto, sticker 37, offerered price was 34, monthly was like 392 without tax; i went for a 135 vert in the end for about 460 a month plus tax.

Look for a 2008.

I just had an 08 Camry for a rental. God what a nightmare. Sure it's reliable, but compared to my 135i, it drove like a model T. The steering was light and twitchy. I had very little feel for the road or anything else. I was frankly amazed and how poor it drove compared to my 1. Granted it was a Toyota sedan, not a Lexus, but still the differences were more of what I would have expected from an old rent-a-wreck, not a realtively new Camry.
You should be ecstatic with either a 128 or 135 compared to your Camry.

I can...its very, very faint but if you're listening for them they do whine...OP - i think the 128 would make a great DD, but make sure you get exactly what you want.(options)

M3 replaced my old E92 335. Im happy w/ the change but it took away the comfort in local commute. It's never fun to drive in local traffic no matter how fun the car is.
