Active Autowerke FMIC or Wagner?

So I'm in the market for a FMIC. After doing some research I think I'm convinced to go with a 5" FMIC to avoid cutting.

Initially I wanted VRSF, but numerous hit or miss reviews have led me to spend a little extra more for a reputable brand. I'm torn between an Active or Wagner FMIC

Is the latter worth the extra $200-$300?

I have absolutely no plans of tracking my car. I do enjoy the spirited canyon runs though. Car has 56k miles, charge pipe, intake and JB4. Downpipe and suspension mods will begin after the FMIC and other maintenance

Thoughts?

I did the same research but ultimately decided Wagner. I didn't end up purchasing but it's on my Wish List at X-PH. He was doing sale on Wagners. Not sure if it's still happening. He also started "the ultimate intercooler thread" if you've not checked that out yet.

If you want one with absolutely minimal cutting, I would strongly urge you to look at the Ambient Thermal Management (ATM) stepped core FMIC for this platform. They are the manufacturers of the Helix FMIC, and are now selling the intercooler directly, which is hands down at the top of the list of IAT performers.

Any idea how much they're selling for? Did a quick search but couldn't find a store link. I shot them an email, let's see what they say.

+1

Here is my review: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1069879

You will most likely have to create a notch where the ambient air temp sensor is (picture in my thread), but that's it. Great intercooler.

Glad to know you are considering doing business with us when you are ready to make the FMIC purchase

You said $200-$300 so im assuming you are comparing AA sport to Wagner EVO 2

These 2 are very different and no point in making a comparison

AA sport is closer in performance to Wagner EVO 1 Performance
where is the Wagner EVO 2 is closer to the AA race

Since you do not push your car and will not get any upgraded turbos,AA sport / Wagner EVO 1 Performance or Wagner Evo 2 Performance will do just fine. Wagner EVO 2 will give you the lowest IAT
