I am going to have a look at changing some of the fluids to be better prepared.

Also, was planning on pairing koni fsds with perf springs but might just switch straight to coilovers.
Are you tracking the 125i or 135i as I see you have both.

What mods will you be running? I'm 99% sure you will limp back into the pits.

Make sure you run the first session

I sold it to another member on here who found it less than impressive. I had never installed it but it apparently was poor quality and doesnt fit our 125/130 exactly as its for the 128 (iirc the power steering reservoir is slightly positioned differently).

Do a search for injen intake review and read it for yourself.

135. Mods would be procede, n55 mids, semi slicks and hopefully get the fmic and cp installed by then.

What do think will instigate the limp mode? hpfp?

Depends if the track is a horsepower track or handling track. Regardless, 30 minutes out of every hour will be taxing on the car. If it's a high horsepower track your car will overheat and limp to protect itself. You will need an aftermarket oil cooler. Are you MT or AT? AT generate more heat.

How much boost have you been running Tim? My guess would be stock boost levels are okay, anything around 14psi + it starts to become an issue.

Only ran the SSTT at QR. Not sure what boost that gave me. Lakeside I've run with JB3 & Procede. Highest boost I've logged on the vent gauge is ~16.3psi, though that may have just been a spike. Certainly run with more than 14psi though.

I would say the 16.3psi is most likely a spike. Very interesting that you didn't limp running more than 14psi though. Could possibly be down to a few factors such as MT vs AT, different conditions and different driving style. Slightly OT, do you recall what times you put down for the Sprint and Clubman?

I think I running around 1:02 & 1:05 in my E30. Not sure in the E82. Times are probably online somewhere.
Just remembered, the only time I've gone into limp mode was at Lakeside. Code indicated rear brakes overheating. E-diff trying unsuccessfully to control wheelspin out of corners. LSD fixed that.

Mine sits inside a elastic band inside the boot on the left, there's a space for it. I'd like to mount it somewhere properly though.

Most scrutineers won't allow it unless it is mounted in a metal bracket to a metal part of the vehicle. Best to be within reach of the drivers seat(strapped in) in case of a roll over.

Yea I want one inside the car but it hasn't been a priority, probably something I'll try and organise next time I'm at Supercheap/repco etc.

I've been to the track already and they didn't have any issues with how it was mounted

Did you guys know that you have to have a correctly mounted fire extinguisher to compete in most decent Car Audio comps?

I know right? I worries me what people must have done to their cars in the past to make such a rule necessary...

Actually you don't 'need the extinguisher for the audio comps, you just lose points without it. I used to judge for the Queensland comps.

Back to the track stuff, do we need one for the day coming up?

Don't think so Rich, basically same format as the drags. Just dress appropriately and you will be set. You can't leave anything laying around in the car.

I'll try and bring a tyre pressure bleeder if I remember because you will want to play around with the pressures on the day to find what works best for you.
