Changed brake caliper but need to twist the hose to be able to put back caliper
Hello everyone,
I have a e88 from 2010 and I decided to change my brake caliper on the rear right side because the piston was not moving back correctly. I bought this brake caliper : I removed the old one, put the new one but when I tight it to the stop the caliper is facing the wrong direction, it's 180° from the rotor. If i want to put it back on the rotor I have to twist the brake hose, which is a big no-no as far as I understood. I tried to untight it of 180° but then brake fluid is leaking. Here are pictures : The caliper not facing the rotor (on the left) The leak I put back the old caliper and no problem, it falls right in front of the rotor. I double checked the serial number on the caliper and it matches the one displayed on the website. I'm really confused, i don't see what I'm doing wrong and it seem like the caliper I bought is exactly the same as my older one. For the records, it's the first time I do this operation. Thank you very much for your help. Joachim |

If I were in your shoes I would just remove the flexible brake hose from the caliper and the hardline. Then I would attach it to the caliper, mount the caliper, then attach the other end back to the hardline.
