135is questions and concerns..

looking at a IS..
for some reason this car has the chrome grill in the trunk with black ones installed...
doesn't this car come with black kidneys from the fac?
wth would he have a set of chrome ones in the trunk ??
the car also has a p3 gauge installed .. leads me to believe it was a previous tuner owner..
no IDRIVE... wich sucks as I use the nav a lot..
it does however have the correct wheels/exhaust and badge on the dash..
as I see some "perf parts"(mystery kidney issue / p3 gauge) on it.. Im questioning the 1)previous owner story( collector car etc etc) 2)if its a real IS..
the vin from what I remember will show I/IS on the Carfax..soooo besides the vin lookup(wich I havnt done) will maybe show if the ppk/320hp idk??
also, no HK speakers either..
im like .. who the heck spends this type of money and doesn't ge the tech pkg??
idk the cars beautiful.. but im questioning the history/story (wich I know ,sales rep will tell you anything)
please help guys as im in the process of buying.. but im having doubts

The cars actually came with the chrome grille surrounds , i have both as well.
Do the seats have blue stitching ?
You may also like look in the drivers side front wheel well and see if there is a slotted grille with an oil cooler behind it.

The 128i, 135is, and the 1M all came with the chrome surround and black grilles. Only the 135i came with all chrome grilles.

Edit: Not sure what the Lifestyle limited edition model came with.

Mine came with chrome surround grill inserts which I hated. So I bought new OEM black ones. Don't think they came with both, all the other trim is black and I hate chrome.

And it looks like a legit IS to me. Great low mileage too. FWIW, that's about what I paid for.mine 20 most ago...it did have 18k on it though.

I have my chrome ones too but felt it didn’t match the shadow line trim so the dealer replaced mine with lack ones.

Looks legit, the iDrive nav is terrible so don't worry about that. 2013 should have good Bluetooth for audio, though HK would be nice.

Nice car, nice transmission too. People would probably say 28k is a lot but that mileage is superrrr low and 6MT's are vanishing.

I wouldn't worry about not having the HK sound system. I was like you when I bought my car. Was disappointed it didn't come with the HK system when I bought it new from the dealer. Thought maybe they could add it in but was new to BMWs at the time and didn't know how much is really involved in having the HK system.

When I decided I wanted to upgrade the base sound system, I found it is actually better to have the base system as it allows a bunch more options to upgrade. My current system uses the Bimmer Tech amp along with the Focal plug and play speakers. I have the sound file from fellow board member GeoffS who had the baseline parameters professionally done and adjustments made by himself later. I haven't heard the HK system in person but would venture to say the setup I have is probably much better.

As for iDrive, as others have stated, it's ok. I'm glad I have it as I Miracast the video from my Android phone onto the iDrive screen. Which means I have things such as Waze displaying on the screen.

Which Miracast app!? I had no idea this was possible.

To the OP, I wouldn't prioritize the idrive, every phone is so much better
