Found it a stable mate that I need to go look at and maybe buy,
2008 Audi S8, high mile and from what I can gather on the cheap side, $9K. For a car that sold for $96,000 ll years ago; depreciation hurts real bad. What has me sold is the aluminum body, no rust. And insurance would kill me. crap. Last edited by iminhell1; 09-15-2019 at 03:17 PM.. |

Start to finish it was about an hour. Everything is pretty straightforward and simple, it’s just that the work space is tight and positioning your body is awkward. Well worth the work though in my opinion.

Drove over 700 miles this past weekend going down to the DC area to hang out with friends. The Wharf was a really nice area and enjoyed walking around and having dinner at La Vie and getting smores at the firepit back on the boardwalk area.
The 128i drives like a dream and the new sparkplugs are firing perfectly!

Quick wash and wax over the weekend.
Tried Meguiar's new Hybrid Ceramic spray wax. Wasn't in the forecast, but it rained this morning. Beads just rolled off as I drove. So far, (one day in,) I'm impressed.

And from what I could find about problems, they seem pretty solid. More than the BMW. But when insurance is more than the car payment, LOL. |

Swapped in a rear view mirror with the garage door opener controls. Simple 5 minute job and instant benefit!

So last week I took the car in for an oil change and brakes and rotors. Oh yeah, had the Dinan DME flashed, too. As I looked at the garage floor, I saw oil stains that I hadn't notice before. Now, I have an OFHG leak. Uggg. I've only had this car for 6 months. Good thing I bought the Carmax warranty!

Yeah, that's a good one. My engine is actually still under an extended warranty, so I'm holding off on installing anything more in the engine bay that would be hard to take off, but I'll eventually do that. I also probably want to do the Ultimate Clutch Pedal.

Not necessarily today but over the weekend:-fitted new waterpump & thermostat
-tried to fit new radiator but it didn't fit (was a supposed direct factory replacement) -got (noticeable) boost leak -fixed boost leak I swear that after fixing the boost leak she is more responsive and sounds a bit throatier. Maybe it has been leaking for a while but not enough to trigger the ecu fault until now. |

I’ve been considering cancelling it now, since I believe they’d refund me the pro-rated amount for the last 3.5 years, and I’ve already replaced most of the usual 135i problems, but I’ll probably keep it, just in case. I’d hate to cancel it and then have the serpentine belt get sucked into the engine. |

It's almost "bumper to bumper". I'm responsible for the maintenance stuff like tires, brakes, spark plugs, etc.

Quick wash and a coating of Powerlock before replacing the front brakes later today. She definitely needs a full paint correction at some point.
Also replaced the front rotors/pads/sensor and had the brake fluid flushed. No more long and mushy brake pedal. Can't believe the previous owner got 58k mi out of the front brakes... Definitely befitting his age (52 yrs) lol.

Thanks, I'll throw a couple more up in my build thread when I get a chance.
Yep, TE:AL. 17x8.5 ET40. They weigh 16.75 pounds each according to my Harbor Freight Tools postage scale

Received the used Corsa muffler I bought today, got some looks hauling that box across campus
That and the y-pipe from a 135i PE will make up my exhaust. I will be getting before and after sound clips, and possibly some sounds after cutting everything from the resonator-back out, just for fun (and per the request of Matticus91 and my roommate). So excited! On the broken side of things, I've found a busted rear shock mount and a busted front strut mount. Probably the result of the TERRIBLE roads here in Longview. I'm tempted to buy softer springs it's so bad...
