Sunroof shade damage

Has anyone else had the experience of having the fabric bunch up and peel off of their sunroof shade?

I'm guessing leaving the visor retracted in the 90° heat is to blame?

What did you do to fix it?

Mine doesn't have a sunroof, but here is a youtube DIY

Thanks! I ordered a replacement shade and will follow those instructions to install.
