Replace door seal or get windows adjusted?

I’m getting some wind noise at highway speeds that has gotten pretty annoying. 2010 coupe with 57k miles. Prior owner put 20k miles on over 7 years, so it’s spent a lot of time sitting in a garage.

The door seal where the window seals to the body looks compressed and feels a bit dried out and rough to the touch. Not deteriorating or anything, but not totally smooth. I tried some seal conditioner to see if it would help, but hasn’t made a difference.

So now I think I need to either get new seals or have a shop adjust the windows. From inspecting the seals, I think the seals are the way to go, but wanted to check here to see who else has successfully tamed the frameless window wind noise beast.

Lubricate the seals with some Gummi Pflege Stift.

If they aren't torn, they are OK. I just replaced one around my door. It's an easy job, just yank it out and stuff it back in. The seal costs around $130.

I also get some wind noise coming from my passenger window, but I think it's due to bad adjustment when I had to get the window replaced. I tried the method of stuffing another tube inside the seal (vertical portion) to get it seal better, but doesn't seems it helps. For my case I think i'll need to get the actual window position adjusted.

Hadn’t heard of this before. Thanks for the idea. Ordered on Amazon already. Worth $15 if it saves the $250 for both seals.

This is what I tried already. I’ve applied it a couple times hoping it would soften things up, but didn’t make a difference.

Since my windows have never been replaced, I’m a little worried adjustments might make it worse in my case.

What type/size of tube did you stuff in? I did a quick search and didn’t see a DIY or anything for it.

Reminds me. My driver side door seal got KOed by the kiddo car carrier going in and out for the newborn year. Need to replace it while they're still available.

Is there a way to repair partially torn seals? To keep this as a spare?

Ok back on topic.

303 is good stuff. None of these items are meant to soften the seals up. They are meant to provided a protective coating on the surface.

Wind noise in a coupe is odd. The 135 has a tight body with excellent fitting doors, so maybe you should look beyond the door seals?

I replaced my torn driver's door seal, where my foot dragged across it. The BMW part cost $130. It's an easy R&R.
