The next step is to apply seam sealer.....
I use 2 different kind....one is a 2 part non sag epoxy and the other is a sprayable urethane....both are made by a company called Wurth...besides sealer they also manufacture oem clips and fasteners... After the sealing is done I allow it to dry for a while...then I put 3 coats of Glasurit high solids primer on all surfaces... I then apply paint to certain areas of the vehicle....after this dries some reassembly in the interior and trunk areas can happen before the vehicle goes for paint... |

Extremely impressive work. These kinds of pictures are rarely posted so I really appreciate you posting them on here.
Question: Do you plan on repainting the entire car, or only the damaged areas?

I always try to do just the paint work that's necessary....in this case ill have to paint the hood and complete left side...the roof, right side and trunk will be left alone....
Im glad your enjoying the pics.....seems like your the only one.....lol....... |

Great.....I got more pics coming.......getting close to completion.....maybe ill be driving it this weekend....that is if I have all the parts I need.....something always comes up.....upgrade
Also...I put a post up in the classifieds but I haven't had any luck......I need a rear muffler.....if anyone has swapped one out and has it sitting around id love to but it......can't see paying the dealer around 1k for a stock muffler..... |

Not a silly question......lift is not in a booth......all painting gets done in the booth except for the lower areas,wheel openings and the trunk.....without a lift it would be impossible to refinish these areas......will post pics soon.....

After some assembly, #740 finally gets to sit on it's tires again...
Also, a pic of the finished front bumper after it got baked in the spraybooth... also sprayed were the rear bumper and side skirt.... the hood is primed inside and out hanging up and then gets edged in... |

After wet sanding and taping , #740 heads into the booth for a new coat of paint....
The other body parts ( hood ,fender and door ) will be sprayed off the car seperately.... |
