New owner checking in

Hi all, I just received my 2012 AW 6spd 135i yesterday. This is my first BMW ever as I've owned a 92 Camaro, 02 WS6 and 06 GTO (that was totaled because someone rear ended me going ~30 mph). ~48k OTD (got to love costco auto program) with the M Sport package, Heated Seats, Premium Package and Nav system. Im still learning about this I6 turbo'd engine and it sure feels fast how my GTO was stock. Anyways, theres still tons for me to learn and read up on so dont flame me to bad, I'll try not to make any redundant posts......hopefully!

Hope yours is equally enjoyable.

What color is your interior?

Vigilante375... I'm in a similar boat in that I've had muscle cars only prior to the 135i- except my car is still in Bremerhaven waiting for a boat. I'm still keeping my 02 Collector's Edition TA though... it's my hobby and a garage queen. The 135 will be my dd and there certainly is a lot to learn about these cars. I know what they are capable of in terms of performance stock but that's where it ends for me. I mean they don't even have a dip stick to check oil levels... you depend on the computer to tell you vehicle stats LOL.... this will be fun to learn about an entirely different type of car though.

Yea Im still reading the manual and learning everything on it. 2 things I dont like so far is the cup holder being blocked by the center console and when you exit the car I have to pull the handle twice, once so the door will unlock and again so I can get out. I didn't see anything in the manual about that and I havn't checked on here yet to see what the deal is about that.

I will post a couple of pictures later on today, we just moved back to Washington state and they finally installed our internet and cable today. I've been using the company internet for everything the past week. Plus its stopped raining yesterday so I can get better quality pictures of the car. So far I love it, I just need to break her in and put her on the dyno then off to the drag strip before it closes in a month or so.

The interior is black on this one. I wanted a blue 135i with a gray interior with a 6 spd but the dealer said he could only locate 5 manuals within the entire US. This one was about 1 1/2 hours or so away from me.

Just curious about what pricing was like from Costco? I'm wondering if I should have gone with them. I just ordered one from a dealer over the weekend.

I got 250 over invoice. And then they added the MACO and training (400 + 200).

Well the car listed for 46175 as equipped, with the costco program it went down to almost 43k. After tax and fees it was 48.3k, so I feel like we got a good deal.

The double pull is a safety feature.. its like adouble lock on your front door.. in case of an accident the doors wont fly open no matter what..

at first its a little odd.. but its all in your head. you wil get used to it and do it subconsciously.. dont let it bother you too much..

worry more about the hedlamp washers that make a mess of you hood when you wash the windshield... LOL... there is a work around thou.. just turn the headlamps off when you do this if the car is clean and your just getting rid of a bug or something.. if its raining.. it really doesnt matter as the rain will wash away the stuff on the hood.

good luck and welcome.

search around and youll find a wealth of info and helpfull hints.

regards...
