HELP
Ok I need some help guys, I almost got a 135 Saturday but told the guy I wanted to think about it. Here is my story, I have a 2001 330ci that is paid for that I use for my daily driver. The car has about 85000 but is in GREAT condition. I am the 2nd owner and the first was a 70 year old doctor that babied it. The salesman is the one that sold it to the first guy and me. Now BMW only wants to give me 11,000 for the car which I think is low. So I told the salesman I was thinking about leasing a new 135. I have NEVER leased a car before so I do not know the process. I hardly keep a car for more than a year or two so I figured this might work out better for me. So I told him to get me some figures. He came back with around 465 a month. Which isnt bad but I was not aware that you can haggle with them on price on a lease car. So do you think I have any room to haggle with them on the price of the 135 and my car or does this seem like a good deal?

I would try to sell it private party. You will surely get more that way. If you don't feel like dealing with the private party and your too eager to get in a 1er then just take the 11 and be greatful they gave you that. JMO

there is not much room to negotiate on the price of a 135, but other members have been quoted $500 below MSRP on occassion. There is another thread about that...but the $11,000 isn't bad for a trade if you're eager beaver
you SHOULD, however, make sure they don't kill you on other fees like acquisition and misc. other stupid things they use to boost profit. There are pretty good website detailing what can and can't be negotiated on a lease. |

Remember you will save aprox $770 in taxes @7% with a trade. So its like getting $11,770 for the trade. Plus you get to keep your 330ci until the 135i comes in which will take 8-12 weeks. If you sell it yourself you should be able to get $13-14k, but good luck. First you have to pay to put it for sale, then wash it every time somebody wants to look at it, then you have to make appointments hoping they show up? Then after many have looked at it, you finally get a buyer, then he/she can't get finance approval. Just a PAIN in the @$$ selling yourself to save $2k, or aprox $30 a month on the payment. Thats if you can sell it for what you want/need.?????
SORRY, but just trying to help you see the whole picture. Plus you don't know who is buying it. Maybe a NUT who has problems, then comes back some late night to scratch your new 135i. IT HAS HAPPENED. I am not paranoid, just realistic. |

Well the car is there, it was one already there. It is black with the red interior. And if I do this it has to be today. The said the only way to give me 11000 for my car is if they can get it to the sale tomorrow. So I have to decide on this today. Anyone else have an opinion? I am really just torn, my current car is in great shape and I really like it and it is PAID for. But I love the 135 too but not sure I want to shell out 479 a month. But my 330 has 85000 miles on it and I will not get anything for it if I keep it to much longer. So do I just keep driving the 330 til the wheels fall off or do I go for the 135? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

like you said your current car is not getting any younger, its only going to be going down in price. 479 a month for a 41k 135i is great...I am crazy to pay 600 but the car is too nice...

That is insane. You will be putting 9000 down on a lease and still pay 479? They are trying to rip you off. I am buying mine. My car is 37,175 plus tax title.... I am Financing around 29000 for 6 years and paying the same. You might want to consider looking into purchasing it for that price.

Thats what I was thinking. This is my first time trying to lease and I am not sure how it works but I thought putting that much down would bring my payment down a lot.
