This thread is depressing, makes me want to go to the Acura site. I think the original poster was out of line to open this thread, what are you smoking dude? I'm not sure if its snobbiness or lack of maturity. I will now ask the moderator to please close this thread as this nonsense should not be allowed to perpetuate.

I too though, was happy to get out of the loaner and back into my 330 after the service was done, that was the first time I was absolutely truly glad I bought that specific car I bought.
I have to agree with Xens & and AndOJones, although to a somewhat lesser extent. The 325i loaner that I had was quite competent at all speeds, but being that it was an Auto did make the acceleration seem a tad hampered, especially to someone who drives a 330 quite exhuberantly a good percentage of the time. But it was not an "earth-shattering" difference.

However, I think the 'roar' that AndoJones is talking about is the different intake manifold. When you punch a 330 the sound is very aggressive at full throttle. The variable intake is pretty much at max at that point, so the sound difference is quite noticeable.

Rich is right. He has a 330i...

I don't think AndOJones was trying to insult any of the 325 drivers in any means. People need to take it easy

Maybe the loaner he drove was crappy. People beat up loaners just like they beat up rentals, i.e. drive it like ya stole it. If a car can do 140 mph on the autobaun and hold it own against cars that cost thousands more it's good enough for me. Horsepower is one thing and if that was the soul basis for getting a car I would have bought a GTO. IMHO My days of hauling butt from stop light to stop light is over. So enjoy your ride and let everyone else enjoy theirs.

Can't we all just get along? - Rodney King

Try expressing your thoughts like the quote above AndOJones.

I thought either one (325i & 330i) was great after driving both, try not to put down cars just because you could. Constructive criticism is what we all are looking for, not negative remarks that end up creating more frustration than creative point of views.

You need to consider each car in the way you approach it. Like, does it have the basic same engine? Does the engine roar at different RPMs? Is there something wrong with the loaner car? Do I truly understand what I’m talking about? These are the questions you need to ask yourself before you come to a conclusion and post your thread. Good luck on your next post, best regards.

They ended up giving me a 325i and after driving through the streets and parkways/expressways, sadly to say the car dissappointed me.

The 325i not only struggles to maintain at 60mph, accel + was horrible. [auto/STEP]. the sound of the engine was horrible.

braking was horrible.

but once i got my car back (the next evening) i, immediately felt the surge in power upon accel +, braking. The car does a easy 80mph.

i know there was a thread about this before "regrets getting the 325"
(but im too lazy to search for it).

what are your opinions on this if you have ever drove the 325/30i.

You better lay down the crack pipe.

I test drove auto 325i when I made up my mind for auto 330i.
325 was impressive enough for me, and convienced me to get the new E90.
I told myself, "if 325 is this good, 330 should be even more fun".

325 is a nice ass car. You really should realize, 325 and 330 is basically the same car.
Putting down one is just as same as putting down the other one.

Now if you were comparing acceleration of 325/330 to a 335.. I think I would understand.

the starter of this thread is just as bad if not worse than the blogger who bashes 3-series owners.

leave this guy alone and let him make all the fuzz he wants about 325i being a slow car. if he cannot understand engine specifications, simple logics, mathematics, etc there's no reason responding to him.

Obviously you don't care about these attributes all that much. Less tire sidewall is not going to enhance the driving experience in case you were thinking this would be the case. Then again neither will the Dinan upgrade either, but that's another topic altogether. To each his own though, sorry you didn't like the 325 and I'm glad you went with the 330. Merry Christmas!

To NE330i: I don't know what 325 you got behind the wheel of but my engine sounds like it was crafted by the hands of God at 7,000 rpm. Maybe your ears were dirty the day you test drove?
to all the people that say this and that..

i did not test drive a 325/30i i went to the dealer in June and ordered and put the down payment. so from the start i had NO expectations whatsoever. But after having the oppurtunity to drive both, I felt the difference.

YEA, i was wrong for starting the thread the way i did, but all you 325 are smoking that NEWARK CRACK and getting red-faced for no reason.

but im sure you will NOT be here saying "yo my dealer gave me a 330i loaner, and its better than my 325"

sucka

Sure....but that's mainly because 95% of BMW dealers will give you an
Enterprise loaner car if you bought a 325, not a 330.

Yea, and if you read that thread 95 percent of the 325 owners said they didn't regret it and would do so again.

of course you can't use a loaner car as a test case if you want to make a fair comparison. Like someone else said, people treat those cars like crap. You should go test drive a 325 demo car and see if you feel the same way.
