Heads Up: Florida People: E82 Terra Interior Set PICK UP ONLY

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I came across this listing on eBay for what looks like a really nice set of Terra interior. Seller says Pick Up only in the Orlando area. I know the Terra is a GREAT color from personal experience and the price seems reasonable to me!

Do you know what is involved in swapping electric seats (Terra) for manual seats?

They have been for sale on the local Craigslist for a few months, he wants $1200 on there.
I don't know if I would call them really nice, looks like a bad discoloration on the passenger seat and a weird crease on the passenger door card

I decided to swap the seat backs and bottom cushions onto my manual seat frames instead of doing the electrical wiring and coding. I prefer the manual seat functions anyways.

And good point on the door card crease. I didn’t notice that first pass. I think a full set in reasonably good condition is worth around 1k but that’s just my opinion.

You don't have to code for the seats. There's a great post in E90Post about swapping in electric seats to a manual seat car. I have personally done it. You will need the correct pin terminations and will have to tap power from the fusebox. You also need to tap into the CAN bus network. Here's that thread:

Thanks but I’ve been through that thread a few times already. I honestly prefer the mechanical seat frames and they sit a bit lower also.

This is tempting. I think I'd rather have my seats recovered than pay for those though, they look like they're in pretty bad shape.

Nice find. I'd be interested if it could be shipped reasonably to the west coast

true, the manual seats are lighter and a bit over an inch lower. My manual seats were non-sport, so swapping them out was worth it. No sunroof, so headroom isn't an issue.
