Your Non runflat tire brand/model opinion.
After the 215/40/18", 245/35/18" runflat tires wear out, what size, brand and model will you consider and why. This will be a summer performance tire. The only 18" summer performance tire I have had was the Bridgestone Pole Position RE050A. What will be your choice for the 18" BMW 264 wheels.
Thankyou. :iono: |

I don't plan on waiting to long to replace the rf, when I do it will either be Potenza RE01R, or PS2s. I currentlt have RE01Rs on my 330 and love them, super sticky.

Thanks alot guys.
I just went to Tirerack for the millionth time. I think the 2 tires I will consider are the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and the Bridgestone Potenza Pole Pos RE-050A with Uni-T Breakdown; Michelin PS2 225/40/18" only 21# 255/35/18" only 24# Cost for all 4 $1,068 + $40 shipping/no tax. Bridgestone Pole Pos RE-050A Uni-T 225/40/18" 25# 255/35/18" 27# Cost for all 4 $888 + $40 shipping/no tax. The Pilot PS2's are $180 more per set of 4. But the lower weight is really great. 3-4# less per tire is a big difference. I have never had the Pilot PS2 b4, but I was impressed with the Reviews @ Tirerack. |

I think you'd be better off with the PS2s, they're a great tire.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's on my 325Ci and they're awesome tires. Not too much noise (even with 25K miles on them), and the grip is amazing.

After more reading @ Tirerack, the Michelin PS2 and Pirelli P. Zero sound like the best tires. The P Zero was awesome in wet traction, even better than the PS2. But the PS2 was said to have a better overall feel. The P Zero took 1st place and the PS2 took a close 2nd. P Zero 225/40/18" 23# 255/35/18" 25# Set of 4 $1,120 + $40 shipping. Bridestone RE 050A $888 Michelin PS2 $1,068 Pirelli P Zero $1,120 |

I ran conti 3's on my e46 m3 but I only had a comparison to the TOYO's T1-r and s. Better rear end traction and much quieter. Good comprimise on performance vs value against the Ps-2's. The M3 community seemed to really like the ps-2's.
I am not sure any tire is going to hold the low torque back when compared to the N/A m3. The m3 was much easier to launch. |

I've had the Mich's & the PZero's...you can't go wrong with either. If you are looking cheap but pratical it would be hard to beat...The General. I know a lot of folks who have had the best for a long time but have started trying the General just for the hell of it and they have been very surprised.
I'll go with Mich/PZero, whichever has the size tire I need. Call

That's a great tire with extreme grip. On the track it doesn't quiet have the heat resistance of the Yoko AD07 from what I've heard.

I'm considering the General Exclaim UHPs for non-track use. It seems that a lot of the M3 forum guys have been using them and many are happy. Tirerack seems to have a problem keeping these in stock for them. A bit of a sacrifice in performance but the price can't be beat, plus you get decent thread wear.

If you're not tracking or auto-x'ing I'd think the Generals are fine, as are the Kumho SPT.

Love the Toyo Proxes T1-R to death, I loved the T1-S before it, and the T1-R was a great improvement, quieter, and more stable at high speeds due to the shoulder rib design. These tires are great on the track and in the wet. I've probably bought 4 sets of them for various cars.

Continental Contact Sport 3, only had a few days but a big different in ride quality and grip from the old Goodyear RFT.
Notice the TC does not go off as often, which is nice and there is not a lot of bucking from the rear on hard accelaration. From a ride perspective there seems to be less bag and crash when going over bumps. |
