Mfest Feature David Breuer

Car: BMW 1M

Everyday Since January of this year has been a challenge for David Breuer of Belgium. The two root causes for the challenges David experiences everyday, comes from his new 1M and his job. David’s patience has been exhausted over the past six months and his wait is finally over. His first challenge of being patience for his ///M ended July 28th when he finally acquired his 1M.

Going to school to be a car technician, David’s passion of working on cars soon transformed into a passion for helping others. I inquired about David’s occupation and why he chose it, “What do you do for a living?” David replied, “I am Telecom Sales specialist.” I wondered how a passion for working on cars could change into a whole new direction. I followed up with, “Why did you choose your occupation?” David answered, “I like sales, meeting people, and selling them the perfect telecom-IT solution.”

He mentioned how sales is a challenging job and how this was his second challenge he faced everyday until the arrival of his 1M. I asked, “What challenges have you faced in your life and job?” He quickly responded with, “Every day is a challenge....” Interested, I preceded with, “Could you expand?” David answered, “My daily challenge is to meet my objective and my sell counter's in my shop. You never know how many people you are going to meet every day, and how many that might buy something.” Continuing on I asked, “Being in a sales industry must be hard, could you pick one turning point in your life that you knew your were going to be successful?” He responded, “Sales is indeed hard but I think many jobs today are hard, but for me personally, my after sale service I give is strong and fair to my costumers so they don t have to pay every time they ask me a service question. I listen to them and give them advice on how to deal with the issue, or how I am going fix it for them. Many people don’t like the automatic response machines many companies use. We like personal contact, as a costumer your not a number!”

Learning about David and how passionate he is about sales really illustrates how committed he is to providing the best service and help to people. David’s passion for helping and interacting with others can be seen by how he influences others and the amount of support he has in both the car world and life. These support systems lead to his passion in BMWs and the M division. I asked, “When did the interest in cars begin, and how?” David happily recalled, “Everything with an engine in it I liked! From RC nitro planes to normal sport planes, and heli's to boating I loved everything that I could put gasoline in!” Carrying on I inquired, “Where did the passion for BMW’s come from, was there a specific person or did it come from within?” David responded, “ An old college friend, he drove a 520i 6 cylinder. I liked the big wheels and the sound, I was 16 years old then.”

After taking delivery of his 1M I asked, “What have you done to it so far?” He answered with, “I have driven it since July 28th, I want to break-in the engine properly and then I make my adjustments.” Wondering what adjustments he had in mind I followed up with, “Any aftermarket parts you have your eye on?” He quickly responded, “The H&R springs 30mm in front 15mm in the back to make the tire and chassis perfect!” Also want a totally black grill like my buddy Davy’s 1M and an engine update, maybe?”

Interested to see if he has made the journey to the Nurburgring, I inquired, “Have you ever driven around the Nurburgring?” David answered, “No, but I want to do it in the future, before that I have to go to a training course by BMW specially for M cars. I have driven cars now for 12 years, but this car separates the men from boy's!!!” Continuing on I asked, “Many say the 1M is the true enthusiast’s car, do you think BMW’s M division is headed the right way with the 1M?” David enlightened me to how he felt, “Yes indeed, for me it is the true enthusiast’s car! For me I noticed my radio is 80 percent off, something that with my older cars I never did.”

Learning about his plans I can tell David is a true enthusiast and passionate about BMWs and his 1M. The 1M is made for enthusiasts and pushes the boundaries of all ///M cars. I know David will drive his car to its full extent and use it how BMW meant it to be used."

Thanks to David for taking his time and sharing his wonderful story!

Let me know what you think and enjoy!
