Is there a way to find out of I have a hybrid turbo?

This sounds like a really stupid question but hear me out. I bought my 2012 135i n55 from Copart auction, so I don't know the history or previous owner. When I bought it, I found it had a JB4, VRSF charge pipe, and BMS intake. Seemed par for the course of basic mods. I haven't driven it much as I've been finishing up fixing the damage. Well I'm getting ready for a Pure Stage 2 upgrade and today I was underneath poking around and noticed that it already has a GFB DV+ and a high flow inlet installed. I thought that was odd because neither of those are quick easy installs and usually reserved for turbo upgrades. I think the inlet pipe is the pure one, its raw aluminum and the VRSF is the only other one I've seen and it's wrinkle black. I also checked spark plugs and it's got the colder N20 plugs, but then stock intercooler, stock DP and straight piped after. JB4 was set to map 5 and OEM flash mode but definitely had some tune or maybe PPK tune because it roars loud as hell on start and has all the pops and gurgles on decel. It just seems like a unorthodox order of upgrades.

Anway, is there any way to verify the turbo besides removing it?

My question has been answered and for the record, removing the inlet pipe is the easiest way to check.

P.S. my suspicions were correct and I do have a PS2 installed.

What did you look for when you removed the inlet pipe? I have the same suspicions about my car.

Lol, this car was my big win after some L's from previous ones. Had a 2006 GTI with low miles, perfect interior and a transmission full of coolant milkshake.
