120d 270 HP / 705 NM

Normal tune: 254hk 570 nm
Race tune: 270 hk 0ch 705 Nm

Mods: New exhaust, modified mitsu tf035 turbo.

Pretty sick coming from a 163hp 320Nm original.

Whoa!!!! That's amazing. 266 HP/520 Ftlbs. (converted) That thing must melt tires.

I wonder what they can do to a 123d?

For the love of god, why can't we get these models (120d and 123d) in the USA?

Seriously, I would love to have a 123d coupe, but I just don't have the time to wait another year or two for my next car purchase. If I thought one might be available in the Fall, though, I might delay. C'mon BMW, bring these over!

I know, the diesels are amazing, I just wish we could get the 123d M sport or equivalent here, or who knows maybe even a 135d

^ yea and maybe BMW will be more naive and not put in all sorts of tuning detection like they do with the twin turbo gas engine :iono:

705NM?

When we had our s55 Amg that made 720nm, used to take it for drives and that was brutal!!! but 705 in a little 1'er? that must be so much fun!!!

They should've brought the 123d, not the 335d as the first offering. A decently-optioned 335d is almost $50k MSRP -- few buying in that range give a whit about fuel economy, longevity of the engine, or any of the other advantages diesel offers. I predict that it isn't going to be a huge success, particularly as it's getting released just as gas prices are depressed across-the-board.

Completely disregarding the financial impact of gas prices, I would still buy a 335d over a 335i. That effortless acceleration from all that torque and the general driveability, not to mention having to visit the gas station a lot less often (which I hate doing) would be the main factors for me. Hopefully Americans can see these advantages too Plus the chance to own something a bit different and tell your friends about...

I agree, I mean if I could afford the 335d I'd have one in a heartbeat, I cant wait for this summers BMWCCA raffle so I can enter and maybe win one, haha! But yea I'd love them to bring the 123d here it would be so cool, especially at the 45 mpg it gets!

And that's on the previous generation diesel. The one being used on the LCI now come 177 hp / 350 Nm stock. Imagine what the chip can do to this one.

BTW can the engine handle that much power?

i dont think its the previous generation diesel. because the standard hp of a 120d is 177 hp. but a dealer told me (belgian dealer) that they "remove" some hp till its about 166 to avoid taxes.

Same here in Norway, they sell 166hp and not 177hp.. But you can pay to get the 177 i think. But i think this was the old 163hp,

I saw a 120d at the Tuner GP in Hockenheim in the drift competition. He came hauling butt and right before the turn and stopped flat. He came and gunned it from the dead start and started busting the drift from the dead start. Everyone flipped out. I would love to try one at the 'Ring and see how it feels.
