The standard front end looks very nice. Congrats to BMW for not F-ing it up since I'm going to be seeing ALOT of these cars.

Turbo 4 for M1? I really doubt it, unless they plan to use that engine in the entire range of cars... Too expensive to develop for 1 model...

"still have no idea what the rear lights will look like"
Those AutoBild drawings that were post months ago in the thread of the "Bogus Pics in Mohave" were dead on. They were also confirmed in the spy shots in California with the red car. |

 The Huckfeldt front is virtually spot-on for the front bumper on what I think is the base model. Tho there is still distortion...hood looks smushed in his photoshop. :roundel: :roundel: 500! :roundel: :roundel: |

They'll take it right up to show time, and I don't blame them, I would too. By now, I'm totally brainwashed- it's Pavlovian - show me any photo/spyshot/photoshop..I'll look at it. btw; I noticed that the thread has photos of two different blue cars :lc. plates #4546 and 4598. 4546 looks to have the M-Sport package. Thanks onehots2k, onward to 1,000! |

Congrats on the 500, Brookside!!! I'll be 200 in two more posts, but 500 is truly impressive.
Hopefully not 500 more before the real 1er is revealed!!! I can't wait... |

less with BMW's so it comes as a surprise that he got the 1-er this close...all the way down to the front spoiler below the bumper. And it's strange to me that he can "get" Audi's since they run their mules with super heavy disguise. Anyway, I like the tailights in the Huck...the headlights take some getting used to. What is sort of outrageous when you think about is how old the design is. It was designed by Chris Bangle...in 2001. (Look close at the sketch...signed "Chris 01") Entered production in 2004 (correct me if I'm wrong) and now N/A will be getting it as a coupe and cab in early 2008 badged as a what ? 2008 or 2009 model? Doesn't matter...the design is near to being a decade old. So what I'm wondering is how long will the coupe stay in production before a new design replaces it? Thanks Spud |

Lots of Body Sway in Those Photos
Looking at those photos of the car cornering on the Nürburgring curves, I tend to get the impression that the car could use a somewhat stiffer suspension, like the type with variable damping rate shock absorbers, which you can get with the Audi TT and Cayman S models. Also, it just looks somewhat top-heavy too. They ought to have a real sports version that doesn't just look somewhat sportier (bigger air scoops, bucket seats, chrome exhaust tips, torsion bar above motor, etc.) but also uses aluminum for the hood, roof, and trunk lid, and possibly some selected frame elements to make it handle better.

We've been looking at spyshots for a VERY long time now. Just now expressing worries of top-heaviness is a little bizarre. There have been no major surprises/dissappointments for me thus far. I can guarantee its not as top heavy as a 335i conv.
