After almost 30 years with USAA their continual increases over the last 3 - 4 years made me leave. State Farm beat them fairly substantially and I had them before I was eligible for USAA, so I was pretty comfortable going back to them. I’m convinced at least part of the reason USAA is raising rates is to pay for all of this advertising they’ve started. It’s crazy and it’s stupid. If you’ve been in the military for any time at all you know about USAA.

It used to be no one could beat USAA. On the occasion I might check another company (before that was all on the internet) when they asked who I was with and I said USAA they would immediately stop and tell me they wouldn’t be able to beat them. No more.
I might check again. I haven’t checked for a long time. I also have that fake money in the subscriber account. I’ve heard some people don’t get their cash back after cancelling their insurance. I have over $10k in there now.

I’ll let you know. I’m supposed to get mine within the next month. They sent me a letter right after I canceled telling me I would be getting it.

I know nothing about getting the subscriber savings account money back after cancelling, but when my father, a longtime USAA member, died, we got a fat check from USAA. Apparently you can't take it with you.

Was with Allstate and switched three of my four cars to State Farm since they were quite a bit cheaper. After six months, State Farm is now more expensive than Allstate.

M2: $148 a month
Old Chevy truck: $80 a month
X5: $161 a month
Wrangler: $182 a month

Absolute insanity! What's worse is that two of the above do less than 1,000 miles a year and the truck maybe 3,000 or so.

Every vendor is nuts and it doesn't seem to matter what it is.

Somehow my e92 M3 and 05 s2000 are more expensive than my X5MC to insure... I've also received the third degree from insurance companies wanting pics this that and the other before they cover some of my car. I have a pretty clean record other than some cars that I've owned that other people crashed - that wasn't my fault. Still shows up on lexisnexis (insurance) reports though.

Hell I have an old van that was given to me that's from the 70's and somehow liability insurance on it is $50 a month.

What a scam. Honestly. Auto insurance is following the trend of medical insurance - complete bullshit not grounded in reality in the slightest.

Talked to AMICA which is BMWCCA’s official insurance. Hmm. No BMWCCA discount for Washington state. Not really any better than Pemco.

Insurance companies are required to invest in yield bearing instruments (mostly corporate debt and other fixed income products). My guess is that the payout ratios are magnitudes greater than the premiums collected.

The car insurance premiums are completely out of hand. They are just arbitrarily raising rates with no rhyme or reason. My premium has increased by over 35% in last 12 months with no negative reporting.

Just renewed my home policy which stayed the same after 20% increase last year.

Was actually bought by the previous owner to be used as a pro level rally car. It's still road worthy and I occasionally RallyX it.

Amica customer here. With the end of the year rebate / dividend check they give out, I always found them competitive with other companies. I usually price shop ever other year or so.

In 33 years, I only had one homeowners and 3 auto claims, but never had a problem.

My rates jumped drastically this year, with USAA as well. Told them I was sick of seeing their pricey advertising which was contributing to the rising costs. Their market share is small and anyone in the service that doesn't know they exist lives in a bubble or under a rock or maybe both.

I shopped around and found that i could go geico but it's a company I won't do business with. ended up staying put and lodged a complaint with state about allowing two years in a row such big increase.
