Help Confort access still not working!!!

hey guys I've been going through the forums looking for fixes for comfort access issues that lots if people seem to be having, I've replaced the key battery twice now and have tried reprogramming the key (doing the hold unlock and press lock 3 times thing) which didn't work or even indicate that it was reprogrammed and I tried to code it in using Carly for bmw. in Carly I did find a setting that was called deactivate comfort access and it was on! but even turning it off didn't change anythjng. none of my features work, I can't open doors or start car with the key in my pocket and this all started when I first replaced the key battery for the first time has not ever worked since then please help I want it back so bad it's been too long!

Have you ever resolved this because I’m having the same issue even after doing everything you’ve done as well.

More often than not it's the module in the trunk that goes bad due to water ingress from the fuel door seal. In my case I had a bad door handle that was blowing the fuse for comfort access.

I replaced the module, but I didn't think about the door handles. Do you know what fuse it is?

My CAS recently died due to water ingress from the tailight. The PC board had just about every component rusted out after sitting in about 3 inches of water. Not sure when that all started but I do remember the dash glitching out a couple of times while driving a month prior to the CAS failure.

In addition to the CAS failure, fuse #61 was toast. I'll get around to that tomorrow and report back. Need to get it done soon so the eBay seller return warranty doesn't expire on the CAS unit. Until then I won't know if the replacement CAS is good or not but $50 vs $450 is definitely worth a try.

Follow up: Fuse #61 replaced, CAS works perfectly. eBay FTW

Did you change the battery to the exact same one as it was? Did you check the battery with a multimeter? Maybe it's undercurrent? Did you check the fuses?

I recently had this issue as well, it came into question whether or not my ECU or CAS module had been fried, thankfully this was not the case, I ended up taking my glovebox side of my dash apart to gain access to the fusebox which is buried deep behind the glovebox, to do it any other way is pure hell. I gained access to my fusebox only to discover my diagram was missing so I had no reference as to what went where. I ordered a new diagram from FCP Euro amd replaced all my fuses, I was missing a significant amount of fuses and this was a complete shock to me. After replacing the fuses and my damaged fusible link battery distribution box the problem was remedied and now I have comfort access again. I have attached photos for the 2011 e82 128i fusebox diagram to help you, best of luck

Which fuse is the cas module? I’m having issues with getting my car to start with it in my pocket.

That's how my issues started. Turned out to be water / corrosion in the Passive Go module in the trunk. I replaced it and everything is now working as intended.

(found a good used one online for $60)

So I took mine out of the trunk and didn’t see any water damage or any signs of it. Once you get a new one did you need to recode it or anything?
