Poor Windshield Replacement - Carving out Excess Glue?

Hi guys. Have a car that I noticed the windshield cowl was not flush with windshield on. Had windshield replaced a while back and it appears that the installer did not use OEM gaskets and instead just went wild with the windshield goop. After some time carving, I am at the stage the images reflect. The OEM gasket is not even close, as it has to clip into the bottom edge of the windshield (clearly occupied by excess glue). Any advice as to what I can use to clear that out? A handheld razor blade is no longer cutting it.

If it were me I would replace the windshield and make sure it's done right.

I have had a chip in my windshield for probably 5 years now.
It doesn't bother me and I know poor install of new glass is all to common.

Some years ago in another car Safelite did the replacement and then it started leaking a couple years later.
Safelite has a lifetime warranty apparently so they came out and fixed it.

Well that fix actually made it worse.

So they came back out and did a complete replacement of the glass.
The installer told me they use cheap windshields made in China so sometimes they just don't fit perfectly.

The second one they installed was ok and did not leak.
Normally you have the right to an OEM factory replacement windshield if you want but the insurance companies will push back because they are a lot more expensive.

You can get the chip filled at a glass shop with a uv cured epoxy for - $50. If done right, you can't see the repair. That will prevent radial cracking.

So the two owners came and did the job. Spent like 1.5 hours between removal, BS’ing and chatting with me, and install. They were actually quite surprised with how poorly the last tech did the job. They were peeling the urethane off with two fingers, and basically said there’d be a good chance the front air bags would’ve just blown that windshield right off. Also quite happy they were able to reuse the glass. Really awesome guys, and the job is now done correctly with all the correct gaskets so I’m happy.
