What average MPG are you getting?
What average MPG are you getting?
I'm getting about 23-24 MPG w/ about 60/40 highway-city driving and AC always on auto. Car's currently at 1,800 miles hopefully there's still room for improvement. |

Around 1800 miles. Did a little over 350 today, mostly highway, 70+ mph. Trip computer was reset when I refueled. Got 29mpg, not hateful for a 3100lb car with 230b and no roof!

My MPG depends on the traffic density during the week. Low Traffic - I can get about 24-26MPG. High Traffic - I'm probably getting about 22-23MPG for the given tank. Also terrain plays a factor.

The car takes about 25k miles to fully break in. I see mid to high 30s at around 70 on the highway and high teens to low 20s in the city depending on how quickly I'm driving/accelerating.
75/25 highway city I see mid to high 20s average forgot to say 08 135 Last edited by BrokenVert; 09-11-2010 at 10:12 AM.. |

1 year average = 19.18 mpg
last tank = 17.57 highest = 22.26 lowest = 17.45 It looks like I do about 19s in the winter and mid 17s in the summer. My mileage dropped a lot once it hit June. I think it would be impossible for me to hit consistent 20s unless I take it on the highway a lot more, or baby it for every mile. CPU in car gives high estimates. All of my data is logged using Road Trip on my iPhone.

I haven't entered the last few tanks into my spreadsheet but I looked at it today and I am just a bit below 28mpg overall. I find the estimate by the cars computer a little optomistic, by the way. My main trip is to work and back, about 45 miles round trip. The first and last 6 miles are on a street with 10 stoplights. The other 17 are primarily highway with 55 to 65 mph speed limits.

I did a cross country trip and got an average of 27 MPG but when doing daily driving I have an average of about 19, this is with minimal time on the freeway and mostly driving around downtown areas. Still not to bad for engine size IMO. Also usually running JB3 map 3 or 5

2011 128i 6000 miles. Average mpg 25.5. 50/50 highway, city
What's dissapointing is the highway mpg. I had a 07' 328i with the same transmision and motor and got 33 mpg. Best I can get with this is 28 mpg. Why? I always run at 72 mph cruise on. |

Your mileage is similar to mine. I have an n55 2011 6mt 135i. I average between 19-20mpg, with highest at 22ish with half highway 80mph (exact details are in my log book in my car).
I drive pretty hard, I can't help it. Windows down, engine/exhaust sound so good. Car has 2200 miles on it now All my data is from exact mileage divided by gallons put in car. CPU is always high as you said, by over a gallon sometimes Quote:

If I drove conservatively, I can get 25 on a 27 mile trip to work. I might be able to get 27 staying at 60-65, steady freeway. Never get 30, usually 22-24 overall.

It'll give a much more complete and meaningful comparison. Sorry to be anal. I'll start: 2011 135 DCT, A/C always on, avg speed = 28.7 mph, West Los Angeles, 50-50 city/highway, 705 miles on the ODO. Gentle/moderate driving so far, because of break-in periond. But as you can see from my average speed, I'm in traffic all the time, even on the freeway. Avg. mpg = 20.0
