What is my 128 worth - in Toronto?

Hoping to get your opinions.
Checking auto trader has few similar cars to compare to.
Located in Toronto.

2012 128 hard top, alpine white, black interior, 6 speed, only m sport package, 67,000km. Stored most winters.

First owner, Immaculate condition, over maintained in every way, with all records.

Unfortunately no pictures, only mods are BMW OEM carbon exterior pieces.

What do you think this could sell for?

Thank you

I'll take a guess here as I purchased my '11 135i DCT, 2 owner, no accident, with 110,000km earlier this year from the Toronto area (Pfaff BMW) for $13k which I think was a deal for this car, which wasn't certified because there was some maintenance they didn't want to get to (oil filter housing gaskets & ignition cable).

I'd guess that a truly immaculate 128i, 6spd, to the right purchaser may be worth $15-16k?

Sound about right?

What kind of Certification did you expect on a ten-year-old car? CPO Warranty is 5-years from original in-service date.

I was thinking that most cars go out safetied, licensed and ready for the road but I wasn't expecting anything, it was clear that I was buying the car as-is without certification and was quite happy to do so as I thought the price was excellent so long as there was no major issues... so far so good, and it's been getting new parts each week.. plugs, gaskets, hoses, intercooler, DP, oil catch, MHD + xHP tcu tune so far.. couple more weeks and it'll go in the garage for the winter, I'll do BC coilovers, sways, SS brake lines, some bushings and also considering an LSD.

All cars here in Ontario must be certified [basic safety inspection] when transferring ownership.

oh really? I need to look further into this, I understood it needed to be safetied prior to it being fully plated, which I haven't bothered doing and have been running it (overtime) on temp plates.

Yvrbmw Is looking for a clean car in this spec. Maybe he's your buyer?

This is correct. You can transfer ownership without a safety, but you need the safety to get the permit sticker.

That's not entirely true. You can put a car in your name and pay the tax but if you don't have a safety certificate the car will be titled 'unfit' until you provide a safety certificate. At which point the car will be titled 'fit' and you can get plates. I did this when I bought my E34 project to make sure nothing shady happened while I was getting it roadworthy.

I have the same build, with double the kms. its a rare spec, believe only 16 were made this way apparently, not sure. I have only seen 2 for sale myself, of which I bought one of them.

Thanks all. Despite the rare spec and great condition, it seems my 128 is not highly affected by the inflated used car market prices. Well, not enough for me to justify selling it.
I love the car, but barely drive it. It crossed my mind to sell it if the numbers are right. But for what its worth, I couldn't even get a used car I'm interested in. I'll let it sit for now.

Wise idea. Fall not a good time to be selling a car like this.

Good idea. The car market is bonkers right now, low supply and high prices. Ordinarily a good time to sell, but not this car. A manual, Sport Pkg., low km. 128i is only going in one direction price wise (^ ) and people are just beginning to wake up. As self-driving, soulless electrics take over, a N/A straight six with a stick will be golden to a driving enthusiast and their choices will be very limited. Personally, when I look at what I could replace it with in the newer market, mine is staying with me 'till the fat lady sings.

I feel the same way. And thanks for the support.
I feel bad she rarely gets driven lately. But as we know, she is a gem. I forced myself to put close to 600 km on it this year. The family is on me to sell it, but for 16k? I don't think I can even get a used corolla for that amount.

I agree an enthusiast will pay a premium for it, but of course the book values available don't reflect this.

If for example, I'd be able to get mid/high 20's for it, I'd be more interested. I know that is wishful thinking. Id hate to let it go, but at least it would make sense financially.

So be it. She'll sit for now!

Why is the family on you to sell it? Don't they know what you've got 😂

They definitely don't appreciate it! It takes up valuable garage space lol.

I may post it in spring time, for a price I'd be happy with.

It would help if you posted full specs and some photos if you're really interested in selling or even determining value. We don't even know if you have a sunroof, power seats, leather or vinyl interior, or Xenon lights. When I bought my 2013 Alpine White 6-sp M-sport those were the minimum of what I'd accept. H/K sound, heated seats, iDrive with USB and Music Collection hard-drive were bonuses I'd never part with now.

Low miles but no leather to me means a wash in value calculations. I absolutely hate BMW vinyl in that period, and even when it's "partial" leather which seems to be the case from about 2010-and-later. If you're looking for $20k USD with no options, take your chances on Bring A Trailer, or just keep it. I suspect even if perfect, it's about a 16k USD car on BaT.

That's a good deal for your 135i.

I got a 2012 135i DCT earlier last year in almost mint condition with 50K kilometres for around $18K Canadian with safety on a private sale. I overpaid based on the condition and a few extras. It had a BMW sport exhaust, bilstein suspension and a new water pump. Car was probably worth $16K retail at that time.

thanks! honestly $18k isn't bad for such low mileage.

I was driving on the highway in my 535d with my gf and the driver of a black 135i looked over smiling, dropped a gear and took off, my gf rolled her eyes and was like "relax buddy -- what BMW is that even?" so I had to go on and explain, these despite being the "lowest series" are some of the best examples of pure driving machines BMW has made in the modern era... went home, started researching my confirmation bias, saw an underpriced example in great condition.. told my gf I was going to buy it (sight unseen) she said I'm fine with it as long as we go to a baseball game when we're in Toronto, {internally laughing at her negotiation skills} Deal. deposit. Flew to Toronto on the weekend, taxi'd to Pfaff picked up the car, Jays beat the Sox and drove home. Started with maintenance cleanup, 6 months later full bolt-ons, going to take care of some suspension bits and an LSD for the spring.. gonna need some bigger tires too.
