so far i have no complaints of m short shifter. grip is superb and fits ergonomically into the palm. u will notice and feel the short shift immediately after u install it. i had my reservations about the golf ball look and my initial preference was for m3 e46 illuminated silver leather knob. dealership parts guys says the m3 e46 knob will not fit but i am not convinced.

Some dealers will give 10-15% off parts if you are a bmwcca member. It would be nice if the whole schmeer (steering wheel, shifter, hand brake) was sold in a package. Do any of you have this with beige? How does the grey perforated leather match?

My local BMW Center wants $121.50 for the new version shoft shift knob with boot. That is with the CCA discount applied. I think I can continue to live with what I have.

Where can I get this new version in SA? I've asked in 2 dealerships in Pretoria and they all said there is nothing like that in their system..... then I went to JSN about 2 weeks ago, and they told me the same thing.
