What was the mystery wire supposed to go to then?
How does it read G forces and 1/4mile? How accurate does it seem? Where are the "hidden" buttons. Ones i saw on you tube were by your thumb area..

I just thought I'd chime in again in this thread... I would love to have this wheel, but I am honestly concerned about the longevity of the alcantera on the wheel. The ZHP's and comp package M3's didn't seem to hold up too well, and although I try to be extremely clean in my car, I'm worried about how it may look in 4-5 years (or maybe less). Any thoughts?

I know multiple people that have had their ZHP + ZCP steering wheels replaced under warranty, due to "premature wear". I would be concerned that over time, they would get ragged, but there is precedence to get it replaced for free...

I have the same concerns regarding the wear/durability of Alcantra in general. I had similar material on my 06 Civic Si seats and it started looking like crap after just 12 mos. To each his own though, because that wheel is pretty freakin cool !!

i have thought about this before i purchased the wheel. For me, the car is not a daily driver and i'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to keeping it clean. However in my experience with this type of material, it will wear and usually sooner than most other types of material s used in commonly touched areas(seats steering wheels etc.) As for warranty, i believe the parts carry a 2yr warranty not the original 4yr the "stock " parts have

I had the Alcantara and Cloth sports seats in my 1999 E39. Was not to much wear on them (just a bit in the normal spots due to rubbing on egress and ingress)....
