squeaky handbrake/e-brake
I dont normally use my handbrake/e-brake apart from parking, but thought i would run it in a bit and use it at slow speeds to come to a stop as suggested by the manual.
I've noticed that when i do this there is a really loud squeaky noise... i assume this is not normal? or is it something i shouldnt worry about? |

IMO Normal
Drum brakes never sound great, especially one that is designed for holding a parked car not really to stop the car - though it will if given enough distance.

Mine squeaks when I get in the car with the hand break on. I thought it was a pile of shite for an $85k car to do that. BMW say they can loosen it up.

My E46 does that too. I think it's just a BMW thing.
